But it is a documentary. As I have stated multiple times it is a show that has the real people, real detective and police man documenting how the investigation went underway. The dramatization is a re-enactment of a true event which goes with the definition I posted. Deadly Secrets isn’t a crime drama based on true events, it’s the people who went through these events telling their story, which by the definition I posted makes it a documentary.

I watched some of the first episode. As you say, it features the actual people involved in the investigation, often sitting in front of the camera themselves talking about what happened or talking over the re-enactment. I stand by my original decision to count Deadly Secrets as a documentary.

When you say you do not know a lot, do you mean if you had some recommendations you would try to watch a few more?

Yes. I have found some that I am excited to watch, but I only have three movies lined up. So recommendations will definitely help. I am not one that actively seeks out war movies, so I just dont know where to start.
