Three spies infiltrate the German bunkers at Normandy to get info on the defenses. Meanwhile, a group of paratroopers jump before D-Day is postponed, so find themselves trapped behind enemy lines. One of the spies and the troopers eventually group up.If you're a fan of war flicks, you might want to check it out. Not really too much here for the casual film fan or someone who doesn't like war films.

A U.S. experimental nuclear weapon is accidentally jettisoned over Jordan, and an Air Force officer is sent in to destroy it. Meanwhile, an Israeli task force is operating inside Jordan to eliminate a PLO leader.
Nothing too extraordinary about this film except for the hot blonde sharpshooter with thick glasses.

Kay Lenz plays Cody Sheehan, a detective going undercover at the Rock Bottom strip club to find out who's been killing the dames!

Right from the start, you'll notice the film likes to be gratuitous with its female dancers. Some of them are pretty flat, but who cares? You'll also notice Roger Corman's name in the opening credits as a producer. He used to produce some great sleazy once he got tired of directing so much, and this isn't an exception.

The kills themselves aren't terribly graphic, b... Continue »

In the Tang dynasty of China (circa the 9th century), intrigue runs rampant in the imperial palace, where evey member of the royal family has secrets they are harboring.
I really liked this movie. But then, I am a sucker for period pieces, as I mentioned before. Especially China, which I think is because of my love for the book and video game series Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
Chow Yun-Fat and Gong Li lead the cast. The emperor, empress, the three princes all have personal secrets and secret... Continue »

Two friends decide to go on a road trip like they did when they were young, but things spiral quickly out of control.
I think I liked this movie a lot more than I should have. If it had different cover art on the DVD, after the first thirty minutes or so I would have thought it was one of those talk-talk movies.
First one guy tells the other everything that's wrong with his life, then the second guy returns the favor. Then they're friends again. Then they hate each other again. Then they like ea... Continue »

There they were on Prime, so I gave it a go. I had watched a season or two of the old Bixby/Ferrigno show and quite enjoyed it. For some dastardly reason, I never finished, but I figure I wasn't missing much. Every episode has the same structure: David Banner has a random job elsewhere, meets someone, finds out they have a problem with someone, said someone pisses him off, and hulk smashes the problem. The movies are more of the same, but with a twist. They were both failed tv pilots.

The In... Continue »

Well the title pretty much says it all. What's your opinion on this flick?

This musical came out in my birth year and I remember at primary school 4th grade doing a Grease tribute, 6th grade something Star Wars like and me and my classmates being in 5th grade did some dance at the song "Straight Up" from Paula Abdul. One of the Kindergarten classes did a Ghostbusters theme on the well known song.

Anyway about Grease it didn't really trigger me checking out the movie until recently. Sure I ha... Continue »

I have no idea when I saw the first X-Men movie, but I do know it was at least ten years. So I figured it was about time to watch the next in the series.Basically, everything I know about the X-Men is what was in the movies. So I didn't go in to either movie with preconceived notions about who and what they are. It's an enjoyable film, with a lot of action, interesting story, and really well done effects. I especially liked Jean Grey's struggles, and Nightcrawler is an interesting character as we... Continue »

First of all, I did enjoy this movie, but to call it horror isn't really right. It's a like a horror-COMEDY... which is good!

It's about a bunch of people working at a trendy Canadian clothing store, right before they release a new line of blue jeans. The blue jeans are all possessed, but whether they are evil or not sort of depends on your view of the international economy... this is a Canadian movie, not American, so there isn't really any reason to get too pissed off from the viewpoint o... A couple of witches do some bad magic and raise the spirit of a psychotic murderer.I had no idea what this movie was going to be about. My brain was thinking it was going to be like Hocus Pocus (1993). But it was more along the lines of Witches of Eastwick (which, BTW, I have the unsold pilot of the TV show on VHS somewhere).Pretty fun movie, with a decent story. Not super original, but enough changes to make it stand out a little.Sandra Bullock was very good as Sally, but Nicole Kidman stole th... Continue »

My latest (mostly horror) haul. Would love to know what you think. It's been over a year I actually bought something. Too long this covid crisis kept me inside and racking up money from 'homeworking' which I only spend on food. So I thought oh wel I can just spend some money on those movies I put on my wish list a long time ago. And of course I would love to get some kind of rating from you horrorfans.

I hope this picture link works: https://scontent-bru2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-0/s640x640/... Continue »

It's been a while since I actually had a movie I was looking forward to seeing. I was obsessed with the 1995 movie when I was a kid. I had the games, the action figures, clothing, sticker books... then MK Annihilation came out and I lost all my faith in something I once loved... I even tried revisiting that turkey a few days ago, but goddamn it was terrible. Couldn't make it past a few minutes, but we're washing our hands of all that! It's been decades, so they had to finally get their shit toge... Continue »

Back in 2018, I headed out to Cali to attempt to hike the 2650 mile long PCT. I got to about mile 580 before I had to come back for family reasons.
Had a blast, met people from all over the world, got up close and personal with a rattlesnake. Plus, unfortunately, was present when another hiker died.
Most people end up with trail names, and I did as well. And I earned the name Faceplant the hard way. Including biting a hole through my mouth below the lower lip.
I had every intention of going out... Continue »

A simple misunderstanding causes Batman to kick Superman's ass.
Nowhere near as good as I was hoping it would be. Ben Affleck is not a very good Batman. Maybe around George Clooney or Val Kilmer status.

I put this on for my nephew since it was a childhood favorite of mine. I had the VHS and watched it a bunch, but I hadn't seen it for years since then. Surprisingly, it's still pretty entertaining. It has one hell of a cast, too. I guess that's to be expected from a Joe Dante movie, especially one where Dick Miller plays Walter Paisley. The CGI isn't terrible either. Good stuff.

Not just saying you want to, but you actually wanted to kill someone? Generally, I'm apathetic as can be, but when stressed out, I get severely bent out of shape. And I've been stressed as fuck lately, which is why it's for the best that I keep myself isolated from most people. And if not killing someone, I'd probably just want to beat the living fuck out of someone. I'm talking Ed Norton going to town on Jared Leto, Fight Club style. Continue »

Pretty fresh off of Night of the Living Dead, Romero was still tackling the infection and mass hysteria angle. The Crazies was the bridge from Night to Dawn and it has a great premise. This movie popularized the hazmat/military type of villains you'll see in some shitty Italian flicks later as they try to stop the menacing Trixie virus. This thing really drives people... crazy.

Despite a great concept... it really doesn't do much for me. Almost 40 years later, hot on the remake trend, The Crazi... Continue »

Has anybody else seen this one? I saw it last night, and I'm giving it Tommix's Seal of Approval, which, of course, is all that really matters.

I had to think about it a little after I watched it. In fact, I probably should have paused it now and then. I think the best way to think about this movie is to see it as the Scream of Liam Neeson movies. By that I mean that it is a movie ABOUT Liam Neeson movies, while simultaneously BEING a Liam Neeson movie. Sometimes the sense of humor in cert... Continue »

As we all know, not all parents are great. I believe most parents, while far from perfect, either try their best, or more commonly, believe that they do. Either way, I figure most parents are mediocre. Better/smarter than their offspring gives them credit for, while probably not quite as great as they consider themselves. Unfortunately, they can't all be Ward and June, or even remotely decent in some cases. Sometimes crazy people have children. L... Continue »

I was just watching one of the very few jungle/cannibal films I haven't seen, called Primitives, and started thinking: Fuck these assholes! It occured to me that every time I watch one of these for the first time, I not only root for the civilized folk to get away, but for as many of these primitive cocksuckers to get killed as possible in the process. What did that guy say at the end of Cannibal Holocaust? "I wonder who the real cannibals are"? It's THEM! The fucking cannibals are the cannibals... Continue »

I never held this in a very high regard among Tarantino's filmography, but if I'm baked enough, I'll like anything. This movie is gold.

Sure, Grindhouse was the double feature they put out, but Tarantino's half of it was a double feature in itself. The first half was the more grindhouse-y of the two, and it can be appreciated for the retro grainy look and some dialogue, but I appreciate the other half more. That's when it seems less like a gimmick and more like a Tarantino film, which is all ab... Continue »

A police psychologist leaves her position on the force after a hostage negotiation goes south, and ends up an unwitting participant in a time travel experiment.
Pretty good movie, all things considered. I liked how every time she went back in time to fix what went wrong, she ended up making things a LOT worse. Pretty violent film.
I thought Frank Whaley was Matthew Broderick.
Watching "According to Jim," I knew Jim Belushi could act the crazy part, but I was surprised at how well he did with cra... Continue »

Three friends on a hiking trip end up in a house that likes to make duplicates of people who enter the house, but they are superior to the originals.
While watching this film, most of the time I was thinking "What the hell is going on here?"
About halfway through they explain what the hell was going on. It still didn't really make a lot of sense, but at least they tried.
