With the US election on the horizon I figured it would be nice to have a place for CIVIL political discord. That being said feel free to drag your third world non-american politics into the mix as well
Keep in mind, it's only the mainstream media that's called the election, which isn't exactly official, especially since Trump hasn't conceded. That's the difference between this and 4 years ago. They're certainly aware of the voter fraud and the lawsuits that are coming (starting Monday) because of it, but that won't stop them from running with this. This thing could get turned around if the supreme court isn't bribed into ignoring all the evidence.
Not that I'm holding out too much hope for this thing to have a happy ending as I'm not delusional, but it's not anywhere near as over as it's being made out to be by social media sheep. He's not just walking away from this. And of course he's not fucking stupid. That's beyond laughable. If he was stupid, surely these corrupt pieces of shit like Pelosi would have easily been able to get the rookie out of their hair 2 or 3 years ago, cuz they seemingly didn't let a single day go by without giving it their all. Never mind the media's 4 year smear campaign which somehow got Trump 8 million more votes than last time, so, I guess they're just fucking worthless, huh? But yeah. A lot of things will probably disappear, one of which being the belief that every single bad thing that happpens is the President's fault. What WON'T disappear? Censorship! Better learn to love it.
Well all viruses will disappear at 1 point. But Covid has been there since the start of 2020 all over the world something we haven't seen for like 100 years. And it is a total new virus being very unpredictable. People also underestimated the virus thinking oh only very old people die from it nope. When things got better people won't 't respect rules like social distance any more, you get new outbreaks.
Sure it will disappear if there is a working vaccine or when that takes too long you should hope either for a miracle or until there is enough people building up immunity to the virus, a process of years (and many more deaths). And the economy will suffer even more.
And about Trump being smart yeah he probably is but in an evil way by using the dicatatorial 'rule and divide' technique. Had he been a president for all Americans I would have given him the benefit of the doubt for his weird behavior but I haven't seen that. I think there is an even bigger gap between blue and red now with his CoVid policy and the Black Lives matter stuff.
I haven't met anyone here who thinks Trump is smart, on the contrary. What I hear is dictatorial, racist, narcistic, only cares about himself, childish, crazy, dangerous and stupid.
Well yeah money makes the word go round. Or at least mankind decided it that way when it was inventes as some form of payment. Will money save the planet from destruction if we continue with polluting industry? You could of course always hope the next generation will solve the problems and be like oh if we can have a good life, fuck the next generation.
Just my 2 cents, and my last word on it. I hope it all goes well for you Americans. I won't lie when I say I will be relieved not to hear like almost every day Trump talking and 9 times out of 10 thinking by myself oh stfu you .....
Are you kidding me? I can't wait to see him fuck up his lines and say more stupid shit like he has in every interview. He wont be there for long though. Harris will take over shortly after and she'll probably be the boring one.
Yes I'm gonna miss the stuff like the following from a couple of days ago, Where the Trump team booked the four seasons landscaping company instead of the Four seasons hotel
Snowflake keeps undermining democracy and endangering pollworkers with his lies about voting irregularities without any proof. Snowflakecontinues in his attempt to steal the election. This is what Snowflakeโssupporters get for electing a snowflake into the White House four years ago. It will be nice to have a Christian in the White House againin January instead of the charlatan. Yesterday, President-elect Biden was atchurch and at the cemetery praying at the grave of his son. Snowflake was atthe golf course and spreading more unsubstantiated lies about voting irregularities.Snowflake wants to turn the United States into a Cuban style dictatorship. I amsure all of his supporters are now embarrassed that they supported him. It willalso be nice to have a president who has the capability to show empathy whichis what we need in this time of crisis. Snowflake only cares about himself. Also, it is nice to have a president of the United States instead of a dictatorof the Red States of America.
This response is retarded. You do know that "snowflake" is a term used to describe liberal loonies and not conservatives, right? Talking about having a Christian in the office is absolutely ridiculous too. After the Obama era, Christianity and "Under God" was a big no-go in the white house until Trump had to push it, so this shit about Biden being a more legitimate christian is fucked. That dude is catholic for one, and they're all full of shit. Especially catholic democrats who have expressed pedophile tendencies smelling hair of several minors, but you already knew that. You just want to bash someone with a bunch of half-assed reasons that apply more particularly to your own party which you refuse to acknowledge.
A snowflake is someone who is very sensitive and easily offended by others. Trump is the king of all snowflakes. He gets butt hurt by anyone who doesn't like him.
Trump is not a religious man. Anyone who thinks he is religious is a moron. He has cheated on all three wives, he cheats at business, he constantly lies, he is trying to steal the election because he wants everyone to bow down to him for the next four years. On Tuesday President-elect Biden was praying at Bo's grave and Trump was on Faux News.
And liberals are always offended, hence the connotation. I'm pretty sure the only reason you say he gets butthurt is because... yes... your ultra-left media is painting you that picture, and you're eating that shit up like it's good for you.
Either way, these religious acts are always a publicity stunt, and you know that because the cameras are invited. I doubt either one of them are honestly religious, so throw this whole issue out the window.
You are just ignoring the most important thing which is so obvious. I wanted to ask you this before but since you were still cooking at that point I thought oh let it be.
You are ok with a president that has no empathy? You want an endless reign of selfish narcissistic, greedy perhaps racist leaders (I have heard Donald Jr. could be even worse should he have the idea to take over from his dad)?
If that's what you want because it makes your life better that's nice but don't expect sympathy from people who actually care about basic human needs like empathy, love etc. Do you think money is everything. Empathy, respect that's something you can't buy with money.
This is reeking like Nazi-germany where family members were betraying each other.
Outside US Trump has its supporters but it is telling the majority are from extreme right, nationalist, facist, racist groups and parties. And yeah when they have the ultimate power you get dictatorship with only a small rich elite being the beneficiaries. And I don't think you are among those lucky stars.
But hey I could be wrong and miraculously another Trump reign saves America from future pandemics, unites all Americans and makes America great again (yeah I saw that silly caps again, so it wasn't great after 4 years Trump?) and make them sympathetic trading partners for the rest of the world. In such a scenario I will eat humble pie.
I might not understand US politics very well but what I do know is that this doesn't feel very democratic. A president with so much power (now he is firing people again replacing them with loyalists with controversial records) I shiver at the thought if that would be possible in my country.
I'm afraid this black/white thinking will put you all in another crisis, revolution or worse another Civil war.
I know you don't trust Biden when he says I want to unify the Americans but you proly would have thought the same if it was any other democrat. If you still believe Trump has not been dividing your country I feel sorry for you.
And FYI catholics are christians just like protestants and anglicans are and all the other religions believing in God and Jesus Christ.
I'm just scared another Trump reign will lead to further division and more heated debates with all Trump voters becoming just like the president. No empathy, hateful towards anyone who thinks differently and believe me that's a lot of people. You see that here on TE too. Like it or not you and Der indirectly made a pro Republican pro Trump platform. Even if that wasn't your intention people feel it this way the owners are strongly pro Trump anti-democrat and that is one of the reasons people leave or stay away.
Again I don't understand US politics very well but it looks pretty obvious to me that Trump has been dividing the country like I haven't seen before. That might work in the short term but is never a long term solution.
Oh Johan... Why do you push me so much with this incessant need to agitate my political nerve?
TE isn't a goddamn political platform. Anyone who thinks that needs a good punch to the nose. If you want to be pro this or against that, who fucking cares.
But again, you (and most of the world apparently) refuse to accept that your thoughts on Trump are the way they are because of media manipulation against the guy who's brave enough to call them out on their shennanigans. The democrats are corrupt to the core and the assloads of proof is swept under the rug. Trump is only the guy brave enough to rustle the feathers, and that's why us ignorant hillybilly Trump supporters approve of him throwing a wrench into this wretched system. His aim is internal economy and maintaining our rights.
The democrats don't have American's best interests in mind, and that's blatantly obvious with their inability to answer questions on just about any topic. They thrive on class difference and welfare recipients' votes because they offer no real positive change to society. They're the ones who raise our taxes. They're the ones who make race an issue. They're the ones who incited the riots. They killed our space exploration programs, cut our military budget, they invite ANYONE into our borders because they fund terrorists (Clinton & Obama). They gave North Korea the nukes they wanted to bomb us with way back in the 90s. Plus, as suspected, we've already had our share of dead people voting democrat this year.
But since Trump doesn't put on a happy face, fuck him, and fuck all those naive conservative fucks who actually like America. They're the worst.
And a follow-up to the previous response. I was heated, but I'm drunk enough to discern that now is as valid as any a time to clarify my points.
Democrats in theory aren't bad. They've had a few notable ones with good intentions, but their aim went haywire after too many off-kilter deals with foreign powers. They've convoluted things quite a bit for the states, and we're all still dealing with the ass-end of those consequences. I equate it to gangster movies. The states haven't been paying their protection money to other countries, so we've been imposed upon to let them step on us. I don't like getting stepped on, but the idea of such independence is being shit on by our higher-ups and disguised as patriotism.
What I really detest about your comment is that you say pro-Republican is a bad thing. Keep in mind that some of the state's best leadership was under this party. Lincoln was the first, and he freed the slaves. Throughout the years, we've had them on and off and they weren't all perfect, but they all had some valuable contribution to society, just as the democrats side. Suddenly, you say Republican as if it were a bad thing to be. Everybody's idealogies get twisted in this political climate, because it's been twisted. Regular politics aren't enough, so it's come down to manipulation of the masses, and it's awful.
You Johan, for instance. You butt into these topics with a negatively charged argument, claim it as your final word, and "exit" the thread. Attitudes don't have to be set in stone. Neither side has to be seen as good or bad. My life as a regular and tired working/schooling American benefits more from Trump's Republican endeavors. If you want to side with a democrat POV, so be it.
I don't throw around petty insults like some have in recent times. I don't detest someone because of their political endeavors, but rather their shortsightedness about them. It's like the information is there, and people prefer the filtered version because they don't want to be personally involved.
Johan, you Belgium bastard... I lament your political judgments of my principles, but damnit... I like you. For some reason, I still find myself capable of liking you and all the others that seem politically inept to me, but I ain't pushing for this divide. It's all a smoke screen, and people need to wake up.
One final and barley related note: my shitty job has been getting a lot of a cheap Belgium beer called Burgkopf pils, and I'm loving it. A pack a day keeps the sorrows away.
Sorry Box you say a lot but in 2 long posts you don't really respond to the things I really worry about. So I conclude you are happy with the president because it's better for you but don't mind that the president is (or comes across as) selfish, racist, unempathic and not uniting the people in or outside his country. Again that's not a long term solution.
And this media manipulation is becoming a tiresome and pretty inefficient argument just like Trump calling everything he doesn't agree with as fake news. I mean I heard him denying Covid-19 multiple times, denying climate change, throwing unfunded insults when things don't go his way (most recently the fraud on election). That was really his unfiltered voice I heard not some voice over. So you are happy with a bratty child as leader good for you but don't give me the media manipulation thing. There is enough instances where it's to hear for everyone how Trump ignores, denies and blatantly lies about things or changes his opinion in a matter of weeks or claiming he never said this or that. Sounds more like he is the one trying to manipulate his supporters.
I'm sure there is good things Trump has said and done for the Americans. I hear about more jobs and low enemployment rate until the Corona crisis. Those things are for other countries not that relevant. I mean would you care about that in another country? But in every matter that was of international importance being it climate change, the pandemic we all heard what he said. No smoke there. The division is pretty clear to see. Maybe it's ttime for you to wake up and lay of the cheap beer.
And uhm I never heard about Burgkopf. Well that's not so strange as it isn't Belgian but German.
Johan, I'm tired of trying to tell you the sky is blue and the grass is green, because you'll never accept anything I have to say about politics because you go by your emotions, and that's a dangerous road to travel.
Media manipulation isn't a conspiracy. It's proven factual shit that happens here everyday, and I'm sorry that you live in such a blessed environment where it seems like horse shit to you, but it's a very real thing, and the image of America is being highly distorted by the news that other countries are given about us, and it's fucked. It's a load of hate-mongering and gaslighting, and it needs to stop. And I'm sorry if you don't like the guy trying to stop it, but his "bratty" attitude is a small price for fed up Americans to pay for having someone speak out against a viciously corrupt establishment.
Ok let's leave it at that but I think you are pretty much driven by emotions as well if I see how passionately your defense is. Nothing wrong with that but I also stand by my opinion Trump is a narcist only caring about himself.
Btw I don't see how space exploration is essential to humankind?
Not that I'm holding out too much hope for this thing to have a happy ending as I'm not delusional, but it's not anywhere near as over as it's being made out to be by social media sheep. He's not just walking away from this. And of course he's not fucking stupid. That's beyond laughable.
