I own many of the titles that you mentioned, but you know how it goes, so many movie titles so much limited free time. I can only comment on the 2 that i have watched :

1) Fermat's Room 2007 - This is a thriller for mathematicians. I was actually pausing the movie throughout to solve the proposed problems. I liked it as it's one of those films that you have a group of strangers trapped in a difficult situation trying to interact with each other for survival.

2) Ringu 1995 - Now you mean you haven't actually watched this one yet? Easily one of the all-time best J Horror films, nothing more to say it's a classic. A true horror masterpiece.

I have seen every other Ring film, except for this one. I plan on watching it tomorrow. I am interested to see how it compares to the '98 version.

I really like those 'strangers trapped in a difficult situation' and the mathematics plot will be a nice slant to it. emoticon

1. I can't say I had the same desire to pause the film and solve the problems
2. sounds like you've mixed the 1995 film up with the more famous 1998 film with the same name (the 98 is a remake) personally I think the 95 is a better film, more intimate (might of even been a SOV film)

2. Yes you are right! Very interesting, didn't even know there was a prior version to the 1998 one!

Since it hasn't been mentioned, I'd check out Mulberry St. It was one of those Afterdark Horrorfest entries in the mid 2000's. It was made on a shoestring budget something like under $60,000 by Jim Mickle for his directorial debut, which is quite an accomplishment for being filmed entirely in NYC. It must have impressed some in the industry cause shortly after he was given budgets to make Stake Land and the remake of We Are What We Are.
