Dec 2017
The first two would be just a week long.
The Week of Love (February 11 to February 17)
Points:
1 Points) Movie with the word โLoveโ or other romance related words in title
2 Points) Individual killed while โmaking loveโ (not combined with #3 below)
3 Points) Two or more killed at the same time while โmaking loveโ
4 Points) Each person killed by a loved one (husband/wife, father/daughter,boyfriend/girlfriend. Basically immediate family or dating)
Shark Week (whenever Shark Week is this year)
Points:
1 Points) Movie with the word โSharkโ in the title
2 Points) Individual killed by a shark (canโt be an off-screen death, must be seen)
3 Points) A shark dies (again, has to be seen, not implied or off-screen)
4 Points) Two or more sharks die at the same time
5 Points) Two or more people killed by the same shark at the same time
October Challenge additional challenge
Watch at least one movie from each decade from 1920 on
I'm posting these now for input, since Feb is two months away, and if things go as planned with my PCT thru-hike, I won't be around for Shark Week or possibly part of next year's horror challenge.
So... thoughts on the above?

I'm still thinking that every month needs a challenge, and if you want to go there, the mini-challenges could be thrown into the mix too. So, maybe 1 challenge and 1 mini-challenge per month?
As for main challenges, we've got a few that have proven to be legit, and should be annual:
Jan: ???
Feb: Documentary?
Mar: Trash?
Apr: Black and White?
May: ???
Jun: ???
Jul: ???
Aug: ???
Sep: Sci-Fi/Fantasy
Oct: October/Horror
Nov: Turkey
Dec: Xmas
Yeah, the Christmas challenge hasn't happened yet, but I already know it'll be good. It's vague enough that everyone can have something good to find in it. Sci-Fi/Fantasy doesn't have to be in September I don't think, and Black and White doesn't have to be in April.
Of course, I always forget when the Documentary Challenge goes, and the Trash Challenge is still up for debate if it's in March or not, or if we'll adopt the Monster Challenge.
I feel that holidays are always a good basis for some mini-challenges, if anyone decides to go that route. Shark week probably needs to happen, since there are just so damn many shitty shark movies!
