Just for the fun of it. What are your Top 5 Zombie Movies?

Here is mine:

I Zombie: The Chronicles of Pain (1998)
Messiah of Evil (1973)
Flight of the Living Dead (2007)
Day of the Dead (1985)
City of the Living Dead (1980)

If you had to make a Top 5: what would make it?

Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (1972)
Zombie (1979)
Hell of the Living Dead (1980)
Day of the Dead (1985)
The Return of the Living Dead (1985)

I realize I listed one unofficial Dawn of the Dead sequel and one rip off without listing Dawn itself. I wanted to avoid listing movies that are part of the same series.

emoticon Hell of the Living Dead's got three things going for it that appeal to me: decent gore, Goblin music (though only previously recorded songs), and four characters that feel like clones of Roger from Dawn of the Dead. Hope you enjoy it, for the cheesiness of it all if nothing else.

And the cat out of the stomach scene that's from this movie right?

Just gave Hell's opening a watch. There's a rat that munches on a scientist, but it's more of a chest/neck attack and it never reemerges (too bad). If there's a cat doing anything similar somewhere in this movie, I don't remember at all. Possible though since I didn't remember the rat.

emoticon Great jump scare. That grinning old lady is so damn scary looking, in a real way.

That's what I love about it too, almost feels like a spin off or something.

I'm surprised they didn't try to call it Zombi 3 in Italy. Would have been several years before the real Zombi 3.

Night of the Living Dead (1968) - The original classic. Nothing beats it.
Dawn of the Dead (1978) - Such a fun and engaging movie that really puts you in the survivor's shoes.
FleshEater (1988) - Late 80s cheese/sleaze at its best.
Redneck Zombies (1989) - Surprisingly competent shot-on-video redneck terror.
Shaun of the Dead (2004) - Hilarious, but respectful tribute to the genre.
