I loved it up to the first half after they spent the first night into the cabin, palpable foreboding atmosphere but it went downhill after that point they couldn't sustain the eeriness up to the 3rd act that things are revealed it dwindled into a horror comedy.

Thought the four leads were very naturalistic, especially the dialogue which helped beleiving and investing in the characters as old mates. I'm with everyone else on the atmosphere and setting, utilised very well the trees aiding to the claustrophobic feeling. Some of the set design was really cool, in particular the cabin and effigy.

It's nothing original, notably borrowing from Blair Witch, Evil Dead & Predator amongst others and i think it was a wise decision to reveal as little as possible for as long as possible regarding the demon monster god thing. For me the comedy was all in the first hour, the ineraction between the lads mostly, but as you say alongside this the director creats a creeping dread type feel. By the final act the horror part takes over and could have ended better for me, but overall a fine effort 7/10
