I squirmed at that part in Gerald's Game.

Probably the only moment in any recent horror that made me almost look away. I think even Troma said he had trouble watching this scene.

I watched Gerald's Game a month ago or so and I am having trouble thinking of what scene you're referring to. Probably says more about my short term memory than anything...

Ok, I remember now. Thanks. I didn't think it was that bad.

It was just very effectively done to me, and I guess others - one of the most convincing gore effects I've ever seen and therefore it seemed to make it all the more painful to watch. And considering the rest of the film had almost zero gore, it probably hit harder.
