Another Maestro I expected to outlive Carpenter. I should stop saying that or I will jinx him, but I hope he's a lot like Keith Richards and will never die.

Hooper's films frequently filled me with dread AND made me laugh. He made a few bad ones, but they are still fun, and he has a lot of classics that I watch over and over again. He's probably in my Top Five of Horror Directors. Heck, I even read a novel by him that was decent. I'm very sorry to see him go.

LOL - The Mangler is one that I was thinking of when I said he made a few bad ones. It's best enjoyed on a turkey level, especially Englund's completely over-the-top performance. Although Ted Levine is always fun to watch and listen to - even he couldn't overcome a script this bad. Even so, one day I'll watch it again - and probably wonder why.

Now Lifeforce - there's a turkey I can watch over and over again without regrets.

Yeah, you've got Robert Beltran, I've got Mathilda May. I'd prefer maybe Juliette Binoche or Beatrice Dalle but I'm not complaining.
