God dammit! George Romero a month ago, and now Tobe Hooper. Not many of the big ones left emoticon

Another Maestro I expected to outlive Carpenter. I should stop saying that or I will jinx him, but I hope he's a lot like Keith Richards and will never die.

Hooper's films frequently filled me with dread AND made me laugh. He made a few bad ones, but they are still fun, and he has a lot of classics that I watch over and over again. He's probably in my Top Five of Horror Directors. Heck, I even read a novel by him that was decent. I'm very sorry to see him go.

R.I.P. Tobe Hooper.

LOL - The Mangler is one that I was thinking of when I said he made a few bad ones. It's best enjoyed on a turkey level, especially Englund's completely over-the-top performance. Although Ted Levine is always fun to watch and listen to - even he couldn't overcome a script this bad. Even so, one day I'll watch it again - and probably wonder why.

Now Lifeforce - there's a turkey I can watch over and over again without regrets. emoticon

Yeah, you've got Robert Beltran, I've got Mathilda May. I'd prefer maybe Juliette Binoche or Beatrice Dalle but I'm not complaining. emoticon
