I didn't say that the way I mean it, I don't know how to say this right. I have U.S. Marshals on TV right now, on the AMC channel. Tommy Lee Jones's gang of deputy underlings crack me up, the way they interact with each other and with Tommy Lee. I started thinking, that was kind of a trend in the 90s and maybe the late 80s, to have a lot of banter between buddies in a group of people who somehow assist the main character. Think about it. There was U.S. Marshals, The Fugitive, Twister, Dante's Peak, Lethal Weapon 1 + 2... probably others. Try to remember the repartee between those secondary characters in any of those movies, and maybe you'll get reminded of others.

OK, now that I have typed all this out, maybe this is a really weak idea for a thread.... Box, just delete this if it's too stupid. I don't know, I just got thinking about this somehow. I'm just trying to think of any movies with a group of scientists, cops, or other professionals who act as a team working for the main good guy, or someone who we think is the main good guy, etc.

Isn't Tarantino supposed to be the king of that? I just started thinking about Reservoir Dogs and how Tim Roth is talking about Fantastic Four and the other guy chimes in, "with that invisible bitch". I think Travolta and Sam Jackson have some great chatter in Pulp Fiction for sure. Royale with cheese, foot massages, not wiping your bloody hands on your host's towels, etc.

There are movies like Dazed and Confused where it's all aimless chit-chat. Martha Washington was a hip, hip lady. I'm otherwise drawing a blank on some good conversations, but I might remember a few later.

Yep, Tarantino is known for that general type of thing. I thought there were long stretches of Death Proof that had dialog written purely fr fans of Tarantino dialog. But, I'm thinking more along the lines of the generally good-natured repartee and camaraderie between members of some kind of team that would have a brothers in arms sort of vibe going on. Aliens might be a good example... I mean, for example, the team of tornado-chasers in Twister and the team of seismologists and vulcanologists in Dante's Peak are quite similar in their dynamics. Maybe some of the Robocop movies have this too, in the way the cops interact?? I'm not sure if I've ever even seen all the sequels. Yeah, let me know if you think of more.

Well there are plenty of war movies but probably too many to mention.

The best "banter" movie is probably Midnight Run with Robert De Niro as a bounty hunter escorting mob accountant Charles Grodin but their chemistry is more antagonistic so not really what you're after. They become kind of buddies.

Ohhhhh that's a good one. I don't think many people have even seen Midnight Run, but yeah, really good dialog. The only problem for me is, I always have to skip that scene where he meets his daughter. She makes me want to cry, I can't even look at her.

Die Hard with a Vengeance. Plenty of banter between Bruce Willis and the other cops and also between the other cops themselves.

Along horror lines off the top of my head would be The Battery, Resolution and Ash vs Evil Dead series.

Anything Shane Black has written and/or directed. Dude's a pro when it comes to it.
