Sorry in advance if there's already been a thread on this or perhaps this was a question asked in the site introduction thread. Anywho, are you currently working and if so, where are you currently working? Do you like your job? What past jobs have you liked or hated?

Me? I'm currently working in a grocery store, have been for almost 5 years. Not a great job, but could be a lot worse. At a decent enough hourly wage right now and it's WAY better than my previous job, McDonalds. Ugh, working there was horrible. You're essentially paid horribly to be treated horribly working there and any fast food job.

WILL EVIL NEVER REST?

Great topic, ManRobot.

are you currently working? YES

where are you currently working? SOUTH KOREA

Do you like your job? YES

What past jobs have you liked or hated

HATED: Picking up broken pieces of glass off of the freeway using only my butt cheeks for minimum wage.

LIKED: Breaking up fights between cats with a broom.

Here is a visual aid to help understand my answers:

Fir the past decade I've worked in biomedical research. I love what I do in principle, but my job is extremely stressful for two reasons:

poor upper management (like the worst I've ever experienced at any job ever)
way too much regulatory oversight and compliance problems (federal government get out!)

I make good money and excellent benefits, so I'm sticking with it for awhile longer. If I'm still sleep deprived and stressed to the point of wanting to slash my wrists in a few more years, then I'm getting out.

Wow great job brah! You must have got a great education and learned a lot of things.

Luckily I'm a teacher so I didn't have to do any of that.

QUESTION: As a biomedical scientist, are you ever tempted to start making a Peepenstein's Monster in a supply room? It's the first thing I thought of when I read your post.

I'm actually a teacher (trainer) too... and a veterinary technician. The main parts of my job are training new and existing people to work with the animals properly, and to perform clinical rounds to make sure people are doing what they are supposed to be doing and there is no unecssary animal distress, etc.
I do not perform the experiements myself and I wouldn't want to, but I do support medical advancement and it's entirely not possible with today's technology unless living animals are used, hence the "super mouse" in my avatar.

And, yes, I have seen a "Franken-mouse" at my job. emoticon

I'm still working at the movie theater, which is better than nothing. They don't drug test, kna'am sayin'? Sometimes, I'll get high with my boss and talk about Trailer Park Boys, and they don't care because I'm the best employee they've got there (which isn't saying much).

The only problem is that I've got SOOO many free movie tickets, but I can't ever make it to a movie. I get posters from there all the time, but I never hang them up, so I feel like an asshole.

I'm too lazy to sell stuff online, and I also don't think anybody would want the posters I got. On a rather interesting side note, a co-worker of mine told me how she's selling movie theater popcorn at school and gets $60 a week from that. If only I was an entrepreneur...

image who needs to work? won $300 12 hours ago emoticon. though ATM Im working ~44 hours a week cleaning in a seafood factory, nice job except for the danger and heat/cold & getting wet. Time goes very fast we work unsupervised in a factory normally finish about midnight, its basically like going to the gym for 8 hours and listening to podcasts whilst doing it, the last guy got the sack for not showing up on sundays (couldnt handle his piss saturday night) the new guy, since 2 months is a young dope smoker (thus very slow, so I do about 60% of the work but its cool), though hes now been given a warning for showing up 1.5 hour late on sunday, which makes 4 sundays in a row. I also do contract programing projects though havent been accepting much recently due to me wanting to spend more time making music. I also make enuf money betting on sports to cover my living expenses, I've been doing this for years and have got the art.
Job history: I've had more than 100 jobs, prolly upwards of 500, only been sacked about 20 times, normally for being a smartass

Congrats on the win. However, I'm not sure if having 500 jobs in your lifetime is a good thing or a bad thing. Sure, it means you can always sweet talk your way into employment, but you're not exactly a worthy investment if you'll cut out so quick, am I right? But since we all know you're always drunk, I gotta say that going to work under the influence? Classy as fuck!

Your dope smokers need to be more efficient down there. I'm one of the only few people at my lousy job who smokes and I'm easily the best employee. That's not saying much at all, but my motto is that if I can do it, anyone can. Anyone (cuz I'm dumb as fuck).

Lots of jobs because I've moved around lots, also Ive worked a fair bit via job agencies, so it may be working a week building something then a weekend helping out at some show etc, Whilst I have done a lot of work drunk (oddly never been caught in all the years) cause I tend not to show it, I think my limit has been reached though, a couple of weekends ago, they refused to serve me alcohol in some shop cause they said I was intoxicated (first time thats ever happened) my gait isnt 100% straight now, even totally sober, nuerodamage I suspect.
actually my comrade has woken up over the last couple of nights, I think they've given him a quiet word and he loves how with this job time just flies and he's 20 so you know when you're that age, a job can feel like it takes forever. its good since I get to go home earlier but bad as I get overtime when I go over 40 hours which is been every week for the last 2 months.

I worked on a farm, grocery store, mall, department store, unloaded trucks, I worked in Japan for 6 months (back in 2006), I work for company now that makes me travel a weekend or two a month (or three). I have been to 29 different cities this year, once in Toronto another in London. I work a lot. I don't have any money though. I have a wedding next year and I cut back on horror movie buying.

Damn, I wish I had better work ethic and could travel more. I work for the bare minimum since I'm such a lazy fuck, and I only have just enough money to get by. I don't even buy horror movies anymore either, and it really sucks. I just feel like digital media is destroying the need for dvds.

Get prepared to snooze, but I'm a chartered accountant. Left university around 2000 and worked for the same company for seven or eight years before being made redundant, after that I went down the self-employed route and now have a decent little business.

While at Uni, I worked all kinds of jobs. Worked in an abattoir, cleaned up squats, bar work, a fireworks factory, anything that would give me enough money to go out and get trashed.
