The problem with Gross as well as IMDB ratings are it favours the most recent films, even though superhero films, furious 7 etc wont have a lasting impact.
What brought my original post on, was my GF was playing some songs from sound of music on TV for my daughter, Im like I've known about the film my whole life but have never seen it, i.e.
The sound of music, casablanca, gone with the wind etc are films we all know even though they dont have as many ratings as the latest films (plus a lot of those I assume are inflated by bots)

Though quite how one quantifies 'biggest' films is up to debate

Massive worldwide hit films that I have never seen:

--Home Alone
--Shrek
--Frozen (the Disney one. I have seen the Adam Green one, of course).
--I finally saw Finding Nemo, for the first time, about a month ago.
--The Sound of Music
--Wall-E
--The Lion King
--The Shape of Water
--High School Musical

I'm WAY behind on non-horror movies. Like, by decades. I always tell myself "oh yeah, I'll get to this or that movie eventually," but I never do. The last time I saw my brother's family, I think I put my nieces in a state of shock, as they realized how few of the movies they consider to be common knowledge, or common pop culture, I have seen.
