I was just listening to an episode.
In case you don't know its a radio show thats been going on for 80+ years on the BBC where each week a (famous) person chooses 8 music tracks (and a book and luxery item) so lets hear yours?

Mine: (work in process), not in order btw

1. The Gunners Dream - Pink Floyd
2. Black Waters Blowed/Engine Broke Blues - Silver Mt Zion
3. Lost on Yer Merry Way - Grandaddy
4. The Black and White - NOFX
5. Baton Rouge - Lou Reed
6. Karen Revisted - Sonic Youth
7. Massage the History - Sonic Youth
8. Script for a Jesters Tear - Marillion

And the one to choose to save would be Black Waters Blowed/Engine Broke Blues

book:
luxery item:

Upon listening to it a few times now the lyrics have grown on me... especially the 2nd verse.

listening to Anacrusis, how havent system of a down been sued by them, from 'tools of sepration'
Mate my opinion, first 2 albums, recorded really bad & muddy, perhaps there are good ongs but cant hear them
last 2 - really good, though I cant quite see what brotherhood is a standout track, but no worries

I definitely agree their first two albums are kind of a rough listen.

Brotherhood is just so epic man, with all those synths turning it into a neo-classical metal masterpiece.

I am going to narrow it down to one genre and that's progressive rock/metal because if I included all genres I enjoy I just don't think I could do it. Oh and I'll include that Natacha Atlas song because it's my no.1 regardless of genre.

Rush - La Villa Strangiato
King Crimson - Starless
Opeth - Deliverance
Steven Wilson - The Raven That Refused To Sing
Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize
Genesis - Firth of Fifth
Dream Theater - Octavarium
Natacha Atlas - Gafsa

Firth of fifth is in my top 3 genesis, though behind the musical box

FFS, Here I am listening to steve wilson. If you asked me yesterday, I would go I know hias music well. I know all his albums, maybe not his last one, as I havent listened to him for a couple of years.
But listening now I havent heard anything from 2013 onwards. I know time passes fast when you get older but FFS, no way its been a decade since I listened to him, very scary.
No that cant be right. Fucken weird, years merge together, even though I do shit

Hand cannot erase is his best album, so thanks for reminding me of him.
Odd I didnt know about his last 3 albums even though for some reason I started listening to his podcast the day it came out 3 years ago, No idea why. Its not like I have a google alert 'steve wilson' chek out his podcast.

First 3 songs are great, very who, just need to accentuate the bass, drums are very late moon ( with a hint of yes, esp track #1 @ 7 mins in), (and some artist I missed, but escapes me now writing later) with floyd/waters in track 3.
his 2 later albums are not good, hes like trying to prove a point by going, I can be bowie/prince (his heroes) and release music in multiple genres, the problem is hes is not bowie, and it just sounds like some lame elo/radiohead hodgepodge.
