I have only seen a few of the movies you guys have mentioned already. I can't come up with ten French horror movies for a list, but I will say that I thought Ils (Them) (2006), directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud, was pretty decent.

I have also seen Sheitan, also from 2006. I thought it was reasonably scary. Vincent Cassel is like a demented French Matt Lillard.

That's 2 I completely forgot about. I remember the first time I saw Cassel in a film called La Haine...not a horror but a great French film. Has to be at least 25 years ago cause I remember renting it on VHS.

Yeah Ils is a decent movie. Set in Romania I seem to remember and the ending was quite chilling.

This made me realize I haven't really seen many French horror films. I've seen Martyrs, High Tension and Possession. None of those would ever have a chance of making any kind of top ten list for me, except maybe if it was a list of most boring horror films.

There's got to be some good French horror films out there.
