I'm reading two. I don't normally read two at time, but since one is a film book, it's easy for me to go back and forth between the two.

Regional Horror Films 1958-1990: A State By State Guide With Interviews
Thank you to Psychobeatnik for making me aware of this. Really interesting read, there's films in here I've never heard of.

Guy N Smith's Bats Out Of Hell British killer bats book. It's a fun little read. Bats infected with virus are loose in England, biting people, and turning them into foaming mouthed psychos.

i have just started 'Ayoade on Ayoade: A Cinematic Odessy'. s'quite funny so far

the Bats book reminds me of James Herbert's The Rats, the first horror book i read, i think. or maybe a comic version of Bram Stoker's Dracula

Though like I said it's fun, I think it's safe to say Herbert is the better British horror author of the two.

Stephen King's Christine. I'm pretty bad about reading usually, both starting books and finishing what I start. I'm highly enjoying this one however and intend to finish it soon.

It surprised me how different Buddy's death is. I felt a little bad for him by the end of that chapter, unlike in the movie.

Yeah, quite a few differences througout. But yes, Buddy's was much more drawn out, and not over quickly like the movie. Christine almost seemed to toy with her victims in the book.

Gosh, I haven't picked up a book in a while. I still purchase books, old ones, new ones. As soon as I get a closing on a house, reading should become a regular thing.

I'm going through the movies on TE & i notice a familiar cover to 'Burial Ground' aka The Nights of Terror. i know it from somewhere & i dont own the DVD.

Hang on - hit the bookshelf, yes! it's the cover to 'Slimetime: a Guide to sleazy mindless movie entertainmnt' by Steven Puchalski. this is a book i reckon you'd like Smerd, and pretty much anyone else here. I had forgot i had it (my copies 20 years old) but this is an excellent guide to some trashy fun

s'fuckin awesome! its one of those thats just sat on the shelf for years, growing brown n grubby. shamefully neglected due to distractions of youth.

then seeing that image, memory flash, Proust moment but visual like.

forgotten gem unearthed, flicking through it now & though i know many more of the movies than some twenty year ago, still a great source.

Ian Fleming's Casino Royale. This is first James Bond book. I've always enjoyed the movies and I figured it's about time I explore their source. I'm about 70% done with it. It's a quick read.

I'm still reading that Regional Horror Film book myself. I keep getting bogged down trying to find some of the films - but what a great little resource. I have my copy on loan from a friend but I would like to add this to my personal library if I ever find a good used copy.

I love Guy N. Smith books - ever since discovering his killer crab series a few years ago. I read 'em whenever I find 'em but haven't found that one yet.

I have also been reading John Huston's autobiography, An Open Book, and just started Bentley Little's The Walking this last weekend.

Read and enjoyed the Regional Horror Film book, now going togo through it again, and make a list.

It was a fun quick read. That was my first of Guy's books I've read. I have his crab books. Also The Camp, The Lurkers, his Sabat books, The Slime Beast. Picked up a bunch of horror paperbacks the last time I visited Powell Books in Portland.

I forgot I made this thread. D'oh!

I've since read:

Star Wars: Honor Among Thieves
- James SA Corey. Over the last several months I've been reading SW books in chronological order, I started with the Han Solo trilogy from the 90's (that's as far back as I wanted to go), the trilogy is set before the first SW movie. Honor Among Thieves is set right before Empire Strikes Back. I liked it, the author really captured Han Solo's personality.
One SW book I really enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would was Death Troopers, yep a zombie SW book. Horror can work in the SW universe.

And read Brian Keene's Dark Hollow, enjoyed this one as well. Horror, mythology. Satyr hypnotizing women in a small town to come feat on his large...er flute.

The moving trees made me think of the Old Forest in Lord Of The Rings, so now I'm currently re reading that.

I started to do something similar with Star Wars, except I started further back at Darth Plagueis. Cool character, but much like in the prequel movies, the Trade Federation and Galactic Senate junk got stale fast for me. Stopped midway into Cloak of Deception with no intention of finishing it. Might try again eventually and jump forward to Kenobi. That one always sounded like a western set in the Star Wars universe. Death Troopers sounds good too.

Yeah, I think that's mainly why I skipped going that far back, all of the stuff between the Trade Federation and Galactic Senate I find dull.
I'll have to check out Kenobi.
