I'm reading two. I don't normally read two at time, but since one is a film book, it's easy for me to go back and forth between the two.

Regional Horror Films 1958-1990: A State By State Guide With Interviews
Thank you to Psychobeatnik for making me aware of this. Really interesting read, there's films in here I've never heard of.

Guy N Smith's Bats Out Of Hell British killer bats book. It's a fun little read. Bats infected with virus are loose in England, biting people, and turning them into foaming mouthed psychos.

i have just started 'Ayoade on Ayoade: A Cinematic Odessy'. s'quite funny so far

the Bats book reminds me of James Herbert's The Rats, the first horror book i read, i think. or maybe a comic version of Bram Stoker's Dracula

I'm going through the movies on TE & i notice a familiar cover to 'Burial Ground' aka The Nights of Terror. i know it from somewhere & i dont own the DVD.

Hang on - hit the bookshelf, yes! it's the cover to 'Slimetime: a Guide to sleazy mindless movie entertainmnt' by Steven Puchalski. this is a book i reckon you'd like Smerd, and pretty much anyone else here. I had forgot i had it (my copies 20 years old) but this is an excellent guide to some trashy fun

s'fuckin awesome! its one of those thats just sat on the shelf for years, growing brown n grubby. shamefully neglected due to distractions of youth.

then seeing that image, memory flash, Proust moment but visual like.

forgotten gem unearthed, flicking through it now & though i know many more of the movies than some twenty year ago, still a great source.

You're welcome, found it by accident when reading about Get Out & apparently Jordan Peele is involved in the upcoming HBO series of the same name. Glad to hear you liked it, will let you know what i think once i get around to reading - in a year or so at this rate!

read 'Room' (redrum!) by Emma Donoghue this month, now halfway through Charles Burns 'Black Hole', which considering the subject matter, seems an apt point to post

Family Tradition intrigues, will have to treat myself to a copy next Abebooks/Amazon splurge

Picked up The Dennis Wheatley Library of the Occult: Uncanny Tales vol 1 from a charity shop few days ago. Has stories by (amongst others) Edgar Allen Poe, Sheridan Le Fanu & Washington Irving, som old skool chills there.

The copy was published in 1974 & the original price is UK 40p, some forty odd years later and the price i paid was 50p, bloody inflation for ya!

Eeny Meeny by MJ Arlidge. Detective hunts evil serial killer, not very well written but story is compelling enough. the chapters average about 3 n a half pages and the final forty or so pages are the intro to the author's next book. guess the publishers wanted to bulk it out, prob qualifies as a short story on kindle

I was in town the other day & noticed the comic book shop had a 3 for 2 graphic novel sale, using a friend's upcoming 40th as an excuse to get him a (free) gift n me 2 unearnt comics i now have two Hardback copies of Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Alien. the guy at the counter even asked me if i knew two of em were the same book, i have a naturally stupid countenance, apparently. not started reading it yet, but has some amazing artwork by Henry Flint & Brian Bolland amongst others

yeah AVP was a bit of a lit down. bit!? lot. Didn't know 'bout Batman vs Predator ta for that will look it up. there's a few Dredd/MegaCity One and Batman crossover comics, one i'd rec is Judgement on Gotham, some lovely painted art by Simon Bisley and Judge Death is involved which automatically makes it awesome in my book. comic. graphuckit...
