Hmmm right, so I figured in honor of the holiday why not show the soft underbelly of VPIR and create a post asking your top 3 chick flicks/romance type of films. Not a fan of the genre but I have been forced/coerced at times by lady friends to watch films of the sort in the past and not only did I end up liking these films, I'm man enough to admit they made me misty in the process. Go ahead, call me super 80s ghey in the replies and list your 3...here's mine.

1) Million Dollar Hotel (2000)
2) Amelie (2001)
3) Untamed Heart (1993)

I'm not big on romance either, so I have only seen Amelie on your list. I really liked that one.

1. Titanic
2. When Harry Met Sally
3. Edward Scissorhands

Million Dollar Hotel is on YT free with ads if interested. Thanks for your reply Jenny. Gloria Stuart who plays the old lady in Titanic is in Million Dollar Hotel also...she's hilarious in it with a foul mouth.

I'm trying, but I don't think I can do it. I don't particularly like any chick flicks as far as I can tell. While I can sometimes appreciate romance in a movie, none of my favorite romances are strictly chick flicks.

I had to put some thought into it myself but I'm sure you could pull it off. Million Dollar Hotel for instance is much more mystery and comedy. I thought you would say Spring tbh.

If we can skip the chick-flick aspect and go only by "romance"...

Wicker Park (2004)
Spring (2014)

but also...

Just Friends (2005) emoticon

I skipped the chick flick part. I guess it would be the same except Edward Scissorhands. I'd probably put The Notebook or something in its place.
And an honorable mention goes to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

The Notebook was such a big movie when it came out. I ended up seeing it and thought it was okay, but since I don't have a soul, it didn't leave much of an impression on me. I also wanted to like Eternal Sunshine, but it didn't do much for me. I actually forgot 95% of what happens in that movie, but I guess forgetting is the whole point, right?

I might think of something better later, but off the top of my head...

Butterflies Are Free (1972) - More of a hippie dramedy, but things get pretty romantic. My favorite Goldie Hawn movie behind Seems Like Old TImes.

Breezy (1973) - Things get significantly more romantic in this Clint Eastwood directed love story about the dad from Omen II (who looks far older than the character he's playing) sticking it to Kay Lenz, convincingly playing a teenager.

The Time Traveler's Wife (2009) - I don't even remember much about this one, but remember liking it quite a bit. Probably more for the time travel than the sappy shit.

OK, this is a tough one. So far, the best answer I can come up with it Last Night in Soho. It has a high body count, but it is clearly aimed at a female audience. I'll keep thinking and post more if I can come up with anything good. No, wait, I'll add Starman (1984), starring Karen Allen and Jeff Bridges. I must have been forced by someone to watch that, but I remember liking it.

Starman is a good pick imo... underrated Carpenter flick.

Wouldn't describe any of these as "chick-flicks" necessarily:

The Graduate (1967)
Annie Hall (1977)
In the Mood for Love (2000)

Not a fan of Woody Allen but hey, you like what you like. BTW where is your boy Nicko's list? He embarrassed to list 3 Hallmark/Lifetime Xmas films?

I believe he's still compiling a list. He's narrowed it down to about 250.
