This is a discussion board so I can give my opinion of what I have seen just like Bry said that Hereditary sucked and he didn't vote either.

Maybe if this movie isn't brought up that much we can discuss about other things. So I have to do with what I'm given. If you just merely liked it, you are passionate about defending. I think Box is one of the biggest fans of it but why doesn't he say Johan shut your yap we know already you dislike the movie.


Btw Aster made 2 movies so far so pretty bold statement that he is going to become a great.

And what I mean by stalking is not for this movie in particular: you do usually react when you don't agree with me otherwise I rarely see you reacting on my comments. So it's almost feels like you are enjoying it. No problem that our tastes differ we pretty knew that from day one at the old imdb hb.


But ok if it pleases you more I will just say it sucked and nothing more next time or ignore any topics where these high praised movies I didn't like. Hopefully you don't get bored of not to be able to bicker with me.

No it is a bigger issue than just Hereditary. Whether it is Jaws, Halloween '78 or some acclaimed modern movie like the aforementioned, you simply cannot refrain from having constant digs at certain movies or pointing out to everyone how much you detest something when we already know your opinion on most of these movies. There are no newbies who need to know. One reason Nicko left was for a similar reason, so it's not just me who notices. Maybe the others, especially Box, just put up with it. You're right, maybe I need to adopt a "whatever" attitude.

So yes, of course you are entitled to your opinion. As you say this is a discussion board but the thing is, you seem to like to repeat your opinion time and time again.

Two movies that show huge potential yes. And I am not the only one to hold this opinion. Crictics do too but of course we all know how they are always wrong and most of the "great" horror movies are not even that great.. as you often like to remind us.

Sorry to say but if you or Nicko can't have have it that I don't go with the flow of thinking Halloween, Jaws etc are great than a discussion board is not for you. If we all sing along their greatness it becomes a fanboard.


I know quite a bunch of people who do not like Jaws. Does that prove me or you right, nope. We know those are movies that are appreciated by the majority. But yeah I expressed for the umpteenth time I do not like Hereditary as it was brought up. You had the choice to react to it or not. So now we are going that way that Nicko (and perhaps others) left of me expressing/repeating my thoughts, I'm pretty sure Der would like to hear that.

I'm well aware that stating my opinions about popular movies can cause friction but if it's not possible well I can just as well only do challenges and drafts and not particpate in discussions.

Nope, again, you are misunderstanding me. It's not the fact you are voicing your opinion but how many times you feel the need to voice the same opinion, looking for any excuse to.

It was. I'm not bothered by the fact you hate it though. I hope you'll continue giving your opinion on these threads, even if it's an opinion like this. And you're right, you probably wouldn't like Midsommar either. It's similar to The Wicker Man, it's long, and it's slow.

Well I would do so to keep the peace and I don't want to be the bad guy. Some people do get a bit too emotional when they disagree with an opinion about a movie which is primary meant to be a piece of entertainment IMO.

Abstain from voting is absolutely fine. I do hope you will continue giving your opinion. I love reading everyone's opinion. It's what I was hoping these pills would do. Foster a good discussion of the movies. As I said, I loved Hereditary the first time I watched it, the second time not so much. I can no longer watch it. But I do think the filming is really good. I love the style, the feel. That was very well done in my opinion!

Well thanks I think it's not correct to vote for one if you haven't seen the other, you can't compare. I only assume Midsommar is not going to be my cup of tea (given the reactions I have been reading) but that doesn't mean that Hereditary is autumatically better.

Lol. I agree. I mean I voted on the last one even though I haven't seen The Babadook, but I looked it up and red about it and knew I would like It Follows better.

I thought Midsommar was fantastic. As Onyx said the way the setting contradicts with the darkness I guess is very beautifully done. It is a long movie, but I really do think MidSommar is way better than Hereditary. But if you don't want to watch it don't. Most people can tell what they will and will not like, so it's okay. But you don't have to stop giving your opinion on here. It doesn't bother me. But I do ask, please don't start actively fighting with each other.
