Word up, homos. With the rec challenge nearly finished over on IMDb, I was wondering who'd be up for something similar here? You'd be up for it, that's who.
There's a couple of advantages to having a challenge here rather than IMDb:
1. Less participants. Prolly only a half dozen or so of us would join in. Dat means, with 5 or 6 recs each, there'd only be a max 25-30 movies to watch over the span of a year. Easy peasy.
2. We all have fairly similar taste, meaning a high hit-rate for movies you enjoy. I mean, we all love boobs and gore and rape and trannies, right? So long as we all keep our recs trashy and epic, it's a guaranteed good time for all.
Sounds amazing, right? Hell, you'd have to be a weak-willed, syphillis-riddled, dog-fucking loser to not take a shot at a challenge this awesome. You're not one of them, are you? ARE YOU?
So if you're interested, say so here. If there's enough interest, then we'll probs kick off around mid January, so's everyone can get their recs in. If noone's up for it, that's cool. I'll just edit this post and thread title, and turn it into a thread full of piccies of Japanese chicks pissing on each other. Win-win!

The Rec Challenge will start in a week or so. It's just a way for each of us to get others to watch some of our trashy faves. Looks like there'll be about 5 or 6 of us participating, so I say 6 recs each is an easy number. Everyone rates the recs after watching, then whoever has the single highest scoring rec wins a lengthy oral sex session with Tromafreak.
The Zodiac Challenge will start on March 21. For each starsign, I'll post an introductory thread including a description of the subgenre, a list of examples and a few dick jokes. You can possibly make the site themed each month by making an appropriate background or having a poll, ie. What's your fave Rape-Revenge, then include the winning movie on the results for each month. The object of the challenge is simply to watch, review and discuss movies from each subgenre. And of course, for anyone having trouble, I'll provide links throughout the month for the must-see classics of that subgenre. That way, even if someone dislikes a particular subgenre, they can at least watch 1 or 2 essentials and get an overall feel for it.
Your Dump post for the Zodiac challenge can just remove the couple of mentions of people having to make recommendations to join in.
If this is too many challenges at once, I could just make the Rec Challenge be 2 or 3 movies per person and set the finish date at March 20. I think 10-15 movies in the next 6 weeks shouldn't be too difficult for any of us.
Everyone, please chime in with any thoughts on this. I'd rather not plough on ahead until we're all satisfied with how both challenges will work.
