I thought the first film was an alright, bleak chainsaw massacre rip-off. The second film was a lot more over-the-top in gore and somewhat funny. Now... we've got a web series in the works with John Jarratt (Mick Taylor) and Greg McLean (writer/director of both films) returning.

I'm down for some more Wolf Creek, and I'm glad John Jarratt seems to enjoy playing a psycho this much, because he's good at it! So does anyone care? We have at least 3 users from and around Australia, so maybe it's relevant to them?

I finished watching this series today, and overall, it was pretty damn fantastic. I was engaged the whole time, as the protagonist girl is plenty bad-ass, and John Jarratt is still great as Mick Taylor. It's a short series, it's very well made, and it's plenty twisted. Check it out!

Well I saw episode one and I give it a THUMBS UP or even a BUMS UP. The opening sequence was shattering- epic violence

I was expecting the family to be the protagonits, until the Woodsman fckn murdered them and stacked them up like cords of wood.

also like the choice of what appears to be an actual mutant girl to play the hero of the series. I was fascinated by her gigantic forehead, which seemed to be deliberately emphasized in some of the earlier shots of the episode. She looks a bit like a lizard monster, but one that could easily get laid. Yikes! Episode 2 on tap for tomorrow night.

I finally had a chance to watch it. I thought it was pretty damn good. Have to admit I was surprised by how much I liked it.

Absolutely. The first two were okay movies at best, but the series steps it up a notch! Bam!

I was hitchhiking a lot in NSW, Victoria when the backpacker murders were happeneing ~1993 that Wolf Creek was based on, never met the dude unforutunately though IIRC I only got picked up by a truck a couple of times. Maybe he did pick me up but chickened out, Ive had a few rides where dodgy things have happened and ppl have chickened out (the benifits of being a nut I spose)

yeah thats the guy, hes doesnt look familiar though I prolly didnt have a ride with him, then again so long ago. I've had some unusual rides in my time, I've offered some french dude a spare bedroom this weekend (couchsurfing) waiting for him to get back to me (I should jump in there whilst hes sleeping with a huge knife screaming, freak the mother out)
thats in response to this story you may of seen

seems like the dude doesnt know how to hitchhike, I see novices here all the time, ppl standing in the wrong spot etc

That would be quite a story to have if you did! I've read a lot about him. He was definitely a nut.

Couchsurfing - I tried to join that site recently, but I couldn't get past the "Are you a spambot?" image safeguard.

you just click on the box, its not the old days where you had to decipher what the nearly unreadable text was

Then I am brain dead - I managed to screw up a simple thing. I kept getting images with "Click on the boxes with a road sign", but some of the boxes included what amounted to just a couple inches of an edge or corner of a sign - does that count? Plus, the boxes are tiny. So, I tried "for the visually/mentally impaired", but it wouldn't load. I'll try that site again sometime, perhaps on a different computer. Unfortunately, I will be operating with the same brain.
