In memory of Don Rickles, I watched his "The Ventriloquist's Dummy" episode, directed by Richard Donner and starring Bobcat Goldthwait. This show was all about great guest stars and directors.

A few days before that, I watched Arnold's "The Switch" about the old man (William Hickey) who trades body parts with a young man (Rick Rossovich) to win his woman's heart.

Throughout seven seasons, they've had a ton of great episodes. Another of my favorites off the top of my head would be Walter Hill's "Cutting Cards" with Lance Henriksen and Kevin Tighe.

Here's a reference for you:

Is this the best horror anthology out there? I think the most notable competitor would be Tales from the Darkside, but I haven't seen many episodes of that series... YET!

One of my favorites is also Cutting Cards.

I've always loved the first three episodes: The Man Who Was Death, And All Through the House, and Dig That Cat... He's Real Gone. That might seem like a lazy answer, but I think they're some of the best in the series.

Three's a Crowd and The Thing From the Grave are a couple more I enjoy. I remember a lot of the first two seasons being pretty good really.

Some year, I'll read through the EC comics the stories came from. Got all of them downloaded somewhere.

Tales from the Darkside has its share of great episodes and suave guest stars, but I've always preferred Crypt. Probably because not all of Darkside's episodes are horror.
