I try to keep my diet confined to healthy stuff, for as long as I can, at a time. Like, sometimes I'll go a few weeks eating almost nothing but broccoli, blueberries, kale, brussels sprouts, asparagus, lentils, brown rice, cooked carrots, anchovies, etc. Then, every once in a while, I just totally snap and have a huge bag of potato chips or "Smart Food" (basically cheese-covered popcorn... not TOO much cheese in it, I guess, but it can't possibly be very healthy).
I'm not a total vegetarian, although I wish I were. I have chicken now and then, like in chicken soup, or chicken teriyaki jerky from Trader Joe's. I do try to get a lot of my protein from plant sources, like chickpeas, quinoa, and lentils. I hardly ever have red meat anymore, although I certainly did, for much of my life.
