To paraphrase some recent news, the Disney CEO believes the movie failed because there was...

...Not enough studio and executive interference.

That is all.

Ryan Kinnel is a bit of a cunt IMO... maybe that's why I like him. Prefer Critical Drinker or Nerdrotic TBH.

Yeah he does comes across as a bit of an obnoxious cunt but much of what he says is true, albeit he tends to repeat himself a bit too much with videos on the same topic. Still, for some reason I like him.

Yeah I also prefer the latter two, especially CD.

Surely the main reason is just viewer burnout, I'm actually surprised the interest in super hero films lasted as long as it did. Gotta look for the new hit genre I suppose Disney, maybe rape/revenge films will make a comeback, pitch that idea to disney

The reason The Marvels failed whereas something like Guardians of the Galaxy 3 had some minor success is simple. The characters. Not many people liked Captain Marvel (or Bree Larson for that matter) and the other two characters are from Disney+ shows hardly anyone saw or cared much for. GG3 had established characters people enjoy watching and was a sequel to a series that didn't really matter if you'd hadn't watched any of the other Marvel stuff. It also wasn't pandering to anyone or shoving messages down people's throats. And sure the first Captain Marvel made a billion but that's only because it was sandwiched between Infinity War and Endgame and it felt necessary to see it.

Characters like Iron Man, original Captain America and Spider-Man are the only ones that could make money for them again but they're white male characters and Disney wants less of those.. Oh and 2/3 of them are dead.

not sure thats it,
the last marvel film with a white guy in it also bombed,
same with the last star wars film which is also owned by disney( featuring arguably the biggest star of the star wars franchise, han solo)
They're just milking the franchises too much

Thats what killed the hulksters movie career back in the 90s, if they just spread the talent out a bit more he would be bigger movie star than the rock nowadays

I'm not a huge fan but The Rock has 3x the acting ability that The Hulkster ever had. Sheeeeit...Shieky had more acting ability than Hogan. He was good as Thunderlips playing himself.

It's true, Ant-Man 3 did suck, and I attribute that to the push to make it so much like Star Wars. Just because Disney owns both doesn't mean they need to combine them.

Marvel is sucking so hard because they're making everything BUT the content fans want to see: X-Men, Fantastic Four, Avengers (the main ones), and Spider-Man Spider-Man Spider-Man.

I'm actually interested in Echo for the fact that it's their first attempt at a TV-MA rating, and I can actually watch it because it will be on Hulu instead of Disney+ exlusively. Vincent D'Onofrio is a definite selling point.

I love D'Onofrio as an actor but he can't save that piece of shit. I watched Chained the other day... that's great D'Onofrio. 1st half of Full Metal Jacket too.
