The year is stated as "2029 A.D." in the prologue of both T1 and T2. Desperate humanity is saved by regular John Connor. Skynet sends the T-800 model 101 back to 1984 for mission A, and the T-1000 to 1995 for mission B, and the human resistance intercepts this, and respectively sends Kyle Reese and the reprogrammed T-800. John now has the photo of Sarah, and gives it to Kyle. (Seen in flashbacks in T1 and T2)
