I miss the days of the cool VHS box art. I've always had a fondness for movies posters, and cover art. Just don't seem to get that much nowadays. One of my favorites is from Ghosthouse (1988) directed by Umberto Lenzi. Another one I've always liked was from Demon Wind. Its cover would change from a solid window to one of a window bursting open and a demon coming through depending on how you turned the box. I believe it's called lenticular printing. What are your favorites?

I've never seen this artwork for Bay of Blood. It's actually too good for the movie, and is even misleading. From this one might think there is an octopus monster in it. The knife is accurate though - that type of knife is used in two of the killings.

The movie itself is utter junk. Not even good for laughs as a bad movie.

Actually it predates Halloween by 7 years with POV killings far cooler than Carpenter's slomo average slasher.

I have posted this before, but I'm always looking for an excuse to post it again. This is a collection of VHS covers, and maybe a few posters, showing movies that were shown on USA Up All Night, back in the very late 80's and most of the 90's. If you just scroll down and look at it, it's like browsing in the Cheese 'N Gore section of your local video store, circa... late 90's, I guess.

PS Damn, I wish there was a Cheese 'N Gore section of video stores. That would have been pretty cool. I should make a sign that says that, and put it above my current DVD collection.

I like ones with artwork that look as if a bit of effort went into them. Loads of 80's ones I remember as a kid going through the video shop like The Kindred, The Video Dead, Return of the Living Dead 2 & Creepshow's.

More recent ones include....

and although I like the cover, the film is atrocious...

Ones I can't stand are the black background with a bunch of teen heads & a bit of blood (oooooh, calm down with the creativity). That and the generic ones that's just a big picture of a face/house (if it's a face the eyes have a 95% chance of being Photoshopped white) etc. tinted green, red or blue, yawn...
