Twin Peaks

Mar '17
Who here's excited for the new season premiering in May? Also, who's been re-watching the series? I just finished re-watching season 1 and have been sucked back into the mystery and intrigue once again. It's one of the best shows ever and easily some of Lynch's best work period. Great cast, memorable oddball characters, and Lynch captures both the beauty and the dark underbelly of small town America perfectly.

And Deputy Andy Brennan is the most likeable dumb cop in history!

When I heard the show was coming back a couple years ago, I finally got started on it, and am sorry to say I barely made it through the first season. I just don't see the appeal of this show. I might force myself to sit through season 2 beforte it comes back just to make sure, though.

I don't know if you like other Lynch stuff, but Twin Peaks had a lot of typical Lynch qualities like surreal, off-kilter, and kitschy stuff. I think maybe more than any other Lynch work I've seen it's a product of its time. Maybe that makes it harder to appreciate if you didn't see it closer to when it first aired.

I can't say I've ever liked anything from Lynch. But I figured there had to be something to the show considering it's popularity. And I guess there is, but I just don't see it.

Yes, there are.... and most of them were/arean acquired taste for me. Like that stuff that tastes moldy, but it isn't. That can go right back in the fridge, ma!

Oh? I heard the first one was pretty good, but the second was mind blowing, which is why I thought the series getting cancelled pissed off so many people. I feel like I might appreciate the first season a little more if I gave it a second look.

You know I'm stoked for it. Been trying to get @Der to watch it, but he's slacking. I plan on jumping right into the new season, since I've seen it through at least twice now. If anything, I might try to get him to watch the movie if anything.

Just finished watching Fire Walk With Me...ridiculously underrated JMO. Gonna rewatch the series now since I haven't watched since it's original airings in the early 90's...I just hope this new season doesn't disappoint.

Facebook just updated their cover photos for some of their showtime shows. They include the Twin Peaks font, and Dexter's cover photo features him in the black lodge, and Californication's cover photo features Duchovny in the black lodge. @balls brought up a good point, that Duchovny should've been in drag in his black lodge pic! Would've totally made sense, since he's coming back for the new season.

Just a few more days for the new season! I can't wait!

i'm ready to claw my own eyeballs out with anticipation.

i was a little nervous about the aged-ness of the returning cast (particularly Kyle MacLachlan, whose character i have great affection for) but i looked up some pictures of them a couple days ago and they seem to be looking great still.

almost finished with my refresher binge now.

i'm thinking about buying these:

My friend just bought that set, I think. emoticon

Regarding the aged-ness of characters, Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne) played a damn grandmother on one of the later seasons of Shameless. Of course, William H. Macy still had to bone her, because she didn't look too old.

Obviously, they'll make all these characters look younger through the magic of makeup. To see how these characters have changed over 25 years is going to be fascinating.
