I made sure I completed the challenge at least twice over, because I wanted to milk this month for all its worth. I had fun with it though, even though I didn't see anything in theaters like I wanted to. I just couldn't bring myself to pay to see a Saw movie, and Exorcist looked like shit.

BEST:
Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor (2023)
Kingdom of the Spiders (1977)
Night of Something Strange (2016)
Third Saturday in October (2022)

WORST:
10/31 (2017)
The Boogeyman (2023)
Dark Night of the Scarecrow 2 (2022)
Unhuman (2022)

Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor was a big improvement over the previous 2 movies imo, really creepy movie, one of my favorite FTVs too.

Hell House 1 was really good. 2 and 3 felt like cash-ins, and like the Amityville movies, they destroy the place in the third movie in some over-the-top way. I didn't really need the divine intervention explanation. In fact, I didn't really need any of those sequels to begin with. Some had creepy moments, but they were still too derivative. This new one had more of its own unique identity, which I appreciated.

It's a great movie, but a 4 minute trailer? DAMN! What were they thinking?

Things were so much better back then when they still had lead in the petrol.
The funny thing is when they first added it back in the 1930s or so they knew it was bad for the health (in fact one of the inventors got bad lead poisoning during the test phase) but they released it anyways cause it was cheaper to produce, cause more profits

Probably the least enjoyable and most uninspired October challenge I've been apart of. Really fucked myself over in the past with attempts at fitting as many FTVs in as possible. There's seemingly nothing of worth left from the 70's or 80's. Just been looking for fun-sounding shit on the Tubi, most of which is either stupid or boring (or subtitled LoL). Never watched such a high percentage of FTVs from the present year, or rewatches for that matter.

Good/entertaining
M.O.M. Mothers Of Monsters (2020)
I Drip Blood On Your Gave (2020)
The Third Saturday In October (2022)
The Third Saturday In October Part V (2022)
Locked In (2023)
Exte: Hair Extensions (2007)
The New Hands (2023)
The Stalker (2020)

Surprisingly good/liked more than I thought I would
Anthrophphagus II (2022)
Dance Of The Damned (1989)
Candy Land (2022)
Blood Car (2007)
Follow The White Rabbit (2023)
Scream 5 & 6 (not terrible)

Worst
Horror Movie Workout (2013)
The Stalker II (2023)
Limbo (1999)
Senseless (2022)
Let's Not Meet In The Woods (2020)

Disappointing
Orgy In The Psycho House (1969)
Pet Sematary: Bloodlines (2023)
The Changeling (1980)
Devoured: The Legend of Alfred Packer (2005)

I absolutely loved The Changeling as a kid. I even remember doing a report on it in school and bringing in the vhs tape to play my favorite part. (It was the wheelchair scene)
I watched it again as an adult and it didn't hold up well.

I was late updating my post but I have done so now.

Mad God was an interesting watch this year. The Influencer was an unexpected good time. I really enjoyed I See You.

I was most disappointed by Beast. I had been looking forward to watching it and didn't enjoy it at all.

Eh...I told Ballz when the Crime challenge ended I would probably not be partaking in this years October challenge. I knew I wouldn't have done the 16 FTV'S, so why bother? I play to win and I knew I wouldn't this year. I watched a lot of the classics but the only FTV'S I watched was The Meg 2, VHS 94, Train to Busan and Scream 6. Train to Busan easily being the best. It was nice to just watch what I wanted, when I wanted...not trying to keep ahead or at least pace with Ballz. Congrats to all participants.

Keeping up with me wouldn't have been as much of a problem this year. Told you I was planning to watch less and I did. It was nice having some time to do other stuff besides watch movies.

Best
Theater of Blood
Orphan/Orphan: First Kill - Better than expected. Had the impression the first movie was about some ghost girl. Glad it wasn't.
Freaky
The Menu
Saw X - What can I say? I liked it.
Dracula (1979)
Vengeance of the Zombies - Recommended to anyone doing the Turkey Challenge this month.
Dagon

Worst
Haunting of the Queen Mary - By far the worst movie I watched. emoticon
A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
Candyman: Day of the Dead
Pet Sematary: Bloodlines

I actually watched saw X as well. Unlike the few previous entries they actually attempted a bit of a story with this film

That little bit of story helped a lot. For once I cared slightly about what was happening.

Nope and Jane Doe were pretty good. I'll agree that Evil Dead Rise was fucking garbage, but I liked Scream 6. I'm not particularly crazy about the killer(s), but the setting was really cool.
