I'll probably be slowing down from this point on due to a busier schedule, but I already discovered a few good ones this year.

My fave FTVs thus far have been The Sentinel, Antrum, Shiver of the Vampires, Effects, and of course... Halloween Kills! I may try to give that one another watch before the month is over.

You don't need to mention what your least favourite FTV is so far emoticon.

Will watch Halloween Kills at some point this week.

I know it, especially since that viewing has been negated. Even if you didn't put your foot down, I don't think I'd want to count it anyway. Not a good way to start the challenge.

I've watched some other boring ones, but nothing I truly hated. I did think Happy Hell Night was garbage. The Howling 6 and 7 have no merit, and Something Weird is pretty damn boring.

Perhaps give it a re-watch. Who knows, you might even hate it a fraction less.

Think my favourite FTVs so far are Dark Night of the Scarecrow, Stage Fright/Deliria and The Mortuary Collection. My least favourites being the CGI-fest that is Van Helsing and the exceptionally mediocre Netflix movie There's Someone Inside Your House.

I'll have to get HBO Max again, and I'm not tempted due to their mainstream catalogue, but maybe eventually. If I ever start smoking again, that might help.

Dark Night of the Scarecrow is fantastic. I love Charles Durning as the asshole postman, and it's such a moody piece.

I was younger and just getting into Universal Monster movies when I first saw Van Helsing, and I thought it was great at the time, but I've since grown to hate it. Very overproduced and a farcry from the simplistic effectiveness of the original movies.

Both my kids enjoyed Van Helsing, but who wouldn't at that age. All those classic monsters in one movie...

I really enjoyed the revenge element of Dark Night of the Scarecrow, plus the fact that the events were more paranormal gave the whole slasher thing a fresh angle. No "final girl" to root for (unless you count the little girl) just a, as you say asshole who truly deserved his comeuppance.

I think you might have made a mistake with my totals Markus. I already have 47 films down.

Wish I hadn't gone absolutely apeshit with quality FTVs back on past challenges from the old board. Getting a bit hard to come up with something of worth, especially anything from way back. Although FTV highlights so far include Magic Magic (2013), The Attic (1980), Rabid (2019), The Alpha Test (2020), The Woman In Black (2012) and Halloween Kills (2012).

Finding good FTV'S is becoming a problem for me also. I'm starting to suffer a little burnout from watching subpar to outright bad FTV'S. I've started re-watching a few films I don't really remember so well or didn't really care for the 1st time around but are well liked. Standout FTV'S for me have been The Empty Man, Relic, Crawl and Benny Loves You...TA DA!!! I saw you didn't really dig that one so much. Rabid (2019) pleasantly surprised me cause I went in with low expectations not realizing it was directed by the Soska Sisters. Johan's rec for Ouija: Origins of Evil surprised me as well.

Yeah, that thing in Benny Loves you was fucking stupid, but the movie itself wasn't even bottom 10 for this challenge. I've sat through quite a few that would be hard to sit through even with a turkey challenge mindset. Had a stoke of luck today with 2 very decent FTVs in a row with Patchwork (2015) and Straight Edge Kegger (2019), in case you're looking for ideas.

I originally gave Benny Loves You 6/10 but I bumped it up to a 7 after I saw an extra about how the main actor directed, produced, edited and did all the effects digital plus practical over a 5 year period to get the film made. I doubt I'd watch it again but it was good for a few laughs and enjoyable enough. Some of my other FTV'S were an outright task to get to the end of.

Yes I need to hurry on, though I have now watched 8. Just finished the Squid Games so as that was a series it was a time sink
