Magic Magic highly recommended. As a somewhat rational adult, I don't usually find myself hating characters in movies, but this little douchy piece of shit played by Michael Cera was a rare exception. Was he really THAT ridiculous or was the main character THAT fucked in the head?
Ok, then... Guess I've just about had my fill of the Camp Blood series.
Collar isn't the worst Ryan Nicholson movie I've seen, but more of the same random, tasteless brutality. Sorry he's dead, just the same. The guy had potential.
New Breed is probably the worst movie so far (aside from The Fog). Early 2000's SOV vampire flick comparable to early Todd Sheets. About an hour long and feels like it's about to wrap up 10 minutes in. Kinda wish it had.
If you've ever wondered why Vincent Price was never in an SOV horror flick back in the 80's, that was truly some stupid shit to wonder about, because he actuallly was. Escapes is a not so bad anthology from 1986 and VP makes appearances in the beginning and end.
Despite being rated 3.3 on IMDb, The Alpha Test is quite good. "A.I. gone wrong" story quickly goes from depressing to funny to somewhat scary, but consistently weird.
Dropping Evil wasn't too bad for a bad movie. Bunch of young people go on a camping trip and take their confrontational, religious fanatic, dickhole friend along, who they slip some acid, sending him off the deep end, getting everyone brutally murdered.
I really need to change that Jaws picture. Getting tired of looking at that annoying cunt.
I normally don't do found footage but Deprivation was pretty entertaining. 3 idiots shoot a documentary about sleep deprivation and stay up for an entire week only to freak out and turn on each other.
Hunting Humans is a pretty decent Dexter-ish serial killer movie from 2002, although it looks like something from 20 years earlier. Possibly shot on super-8. Probably in te top 3 of the month so far.
Not convinced Antonio Sabato Jr. was the best choice to play ugly ass Henry Lee Lucas, but pretty good movie just the same. Might have to rewatch "the real Henry" now...
Henry got some funny parts. Like Becky randomly confessing to Henry about how her dad used to rape her regularly and how she was glad she never got pregnant, and Henry's all like "Ya didn't get along with ya daddy, huh?"
About a decade ago, I bought a 6-movie dvd pack from Pendulum Pictures, and just last night, got around to watching an SOV serial killer movie on there called Thirteen. Not the worst thing ever, but absolutely no proof this movie exists. No IMDb page, no nothing. Not even fucking credits on the movie!
Well, whaddaya know! I actually liked Mother Of Tears. Wrote that one off after finding Suspiria overrated and Inferno boring. This one was surprisingly watchable and gory. Nice to close out an October Challenge with some quality for a change.
