So lately I have been thinking about books that were made into movies or tv shows. And there are a few that I wish were never made, or should have been a tv show, or a tv show that maybe should have been a movie. I hate the Eragon movie, they completely messed it up. It was such a good book, and they could have done so much better. Another series that I think would have been way better as a tv show is Vampire Academy. The books are dark, and the movie was made into a comedy, and they completely missed the entire feel of the book.
Are there any books you wished were never adapted, or any that you wish was a tv show or vice versa? And I guess on the opposite side of thing are there any movies that fit perfectly with the book? I would love to hear yโ€™alls thoughts!

I agree, Eragon was not a good screen adaptation at all. I also think the way they adapted Lightning Theif to the big screen was pretty garbage. The book was fantastic and the movie really didnโ€™t do it justice.
As for books that worked well as a movie, Fight Club and Shawshank Redemption are the two that come to mind for me. All of the performances in those movies are top notch. I think how well a book adapts to film depends heavily on the acting performance. We essentially already know the story from reading the book, but itโ€™s up to the actor to make someone believe they are indeed THAT character. A common theme with these bad adaptations is shit acting.
