As an Irishman, I am bound by patriotism, to support McGregor, even thou he is the underdog. I can't wait for this fight - it is considered the Fight of the Century by some. I don't consider myself an aficionado of boxing, or even MMA, for that matter. McGregor talks a good game, he is a tremendous trash talker, and he didn't get to where he is without being intelligent or astute - McGregor is expected to earn $75 million from the fight. He was on beneifts, here in Ireland, before he entered the world of MMA!

With all that said, it is hard to look beyond Mayweather for the win. He is 49-0! imagine if McGregor knocks him out in the first couple of rounds?!! However unlikely that were to happen.

My brain says Mayweather, but as an Irishman, my heart says McGregor

Anyone here going to watch it? How do you think McGregor will fare?

This is an interesting one. I won't be watching it live, but look forward to hearng how it goes and checking out the clips. McGregor winning isn't impossible, I guess, but not likely considering he's having to give up a large percentage of what he has to work with. And Mayweather's just damn good. He might get lucky. I hope he does. He probably doesn't even realize what a big fucking deal he's gonna be if he pulls it off. But either way, that's a ton of money, and no matter what happens, he knows he could cripple Mayweather if he really wanted to.

And I'm sure Mayweather has been convinced to not take this thing lightly. Maybe he feels like he has the upper hand, and he certainly does, but he knows how humiliating it would be to not only lose to a white guy, but also someone whose not even technically a boxer.

In similar news, I'm now hearing Ronda Rousey has signed a WWE contract...

I'd have a lot more respect for her if she went to ROH instead, assuming they even have a women's division there.

I heard they're going to be working towards a match with Stephanie McMahon at Wrestlemania. And of course, it has to be her. It's not like it's a perfect opportunity to get their useless women wrestlers over.

Yeah. WWE's biggest problem is that it tries so goddamn hard to latch onto all that is modern pop culture, instead of just being the amazing wrestling promotion that it could be. And their fear of scaring off even one little kid or offending one parent makes it all the more frustrating. I've never seen any company sell out quite so blatantly, and then turn around and lash out at its ever shrinking audience for noticing.

At least they stopped calling the females "Divas", although, they probably never figured out why everyone hated that term so much.

I've watched The Simpsons probably once in the last 20 years. I'm simply amazed that it's still on after all these years. I'd assume people would have their fill of that shit well over a decade ago.

The only chance that will make the wrestling business popular again is if some organisation were to go "un-pc" like how ECW was.

I doubt even that would do it. Fans have seen that side of wrestling. They've seen every side wrestling has to offer. Nobody would care because nobody in wrestling matters anymore. At least nobody from the current generation, who can actually go. Wrestling really is dead. I don't think this is something that can be undone. Maybe it's possible for it to be more popular than it is. That's really up to WWE at the moment. However, I doubt pre-2001 popularity will ever be in the cards again.
