image Yeah, that's right. I had a pet chicken. She wandered into my backyard one day and my whole family fell in love with her. Most people would probably think of chickens as stupid, but this hen was something else. She liked to hang out with humans, she let you pet her and pick her up, she came when you called her, she ate all the bugs in the backyard, and she gave us some delicious eggs to eat.

It was only 24 hours ago that I took her bug hunting in the backyard, but shortly after that, my dumb ass decided to take a daytime nap so I'd be prepared for the night shift, and that's when an animal wandered into my backyard and ripped her apart. I never thought I'd be so sad about a damn chicken, but she was fucking cool as hell. Rest in peace, Lucy.

Wow... I'm really sorry to hear that. Definitely a shitty way to lose a pet.

The details of her demise are worse and more prolonged than I'm leading on, so it makes me upset just thinking about her last moments, but do I have a newfound respect for chickens. She was one tough motherfucker who clung to dear life much longer than her wounds should ever have allowed.

Thanks for your condolenses. If I can get my yard secured, I'd definitely be open to getting more of them in the future. All those organic cage-free eggs would easily justify such an otherwise easy maintenance animal.

I am so sorry! It's so painful to lose a pet. I'm really sorry that happened.
