I did it the responsible way, of course - let him know it was just a movie, told him to cover his eyes if he got scared and offered to switch it off in a couple of the gorier moments. He stuck with it, eyes glued to the screen.

When it was over, I asked if all the blood was a bit too yucky for him. He replied, "Naaaah", as if I was stupid for even asking. That's a proud parenting moment right there.
