Today is a very special day for delinquents like myself. It's an excuse to smoke even more than usual, and I'm already smoking around 4 bowls a day. Maybe I should cut back? Just so I'll still have enough to get blazed for Texas Frightmare Weekend (May 2nd)... but I can make no promises.

image Me personally... @Tromafreak got me big into Cheech and Chong a few years back. Half Baked is probably the be-all-end-all of weed films, but then again... there's a lot of weed films out there that are equally awesome.

What are your favorite weed movies? Or shows? It could be a small part of the movie, or the whole movie can be about weed. Just like with the anthology thread, this is based on our user votes, so if you fucking hate this list, then fix it by voting!

Despite being high this very moment, stoner shit just ain't my cup o' tea any more. I still like the first 2 Cheech & Chongs, but for the most part, I consider their act to only be a small step above The 3 Stooges. Although, I'm looking forward to the Broken Lizard C&C movie, if it ever happens.

Half Baked is a good example of how my taste has changed over the years, cuz I used to think this movie was hilarious, but everything about it annoys me, now. It has a shit script which is only slightly better than something like Next Friday, and sorry, but Jim Breuer isn't one goddamn bit funny as the over the top retard-stoner. And the idiot who calls everyone "B" is even worse. He's only there cuz it's 1998 and wiggers were still relevant. Dave Chappelle was okay, although, we're given no indication of how funny he can actually be. Plus, he completely sells out at the end. The guy who gets put in jail (I forgot his name) is probably the best of the 4, and we barely see him. Even the cameos like Jon Stewart's were cringeworthy and makes me ashamed to be a pothead. Half Baked, to me, is typical late 90's/early 2000's comedy. Obnoxious, overrated, and not half as clever at it thinks it is. Fuck Half Baked! And fuck Jason Mewes and the long haired stoner guy from Dazed And Confused while you're at it.

I do of course love Blood Freak and and Detroit Rock City, and probably alot of other shit I can't think of. And I did watch Pineapple Express last night, which I found hilarious. I don't know why Seth Rogen gets so much hate considering all the inferior stoner garbage that came before him.

4/20 rant over. Time to go get high!

Dave Chappelle feels the ultimate cut of Half Baked was more juvenile than he had originally intended, but I still think it's great. Then again, it could just be the nostalgia talking!

Detroit Rock City is also a goddamn classic. I never get sick of that one. Knights In Satan's Service! I was watching their "Lick it Up" music video without the makeup... Those guy's should keep the makeup on! emoticon

You're all about the first 2 C&C movies, but I tend to love the first 3. The fourth is decent, but I tend to never remember anything about that movie except Rip Taylor and a laundry mat joke.

I realize that the stoner subgenre has a lot of stupid cliches and dumb characters (most notably the imitation of Sean Penn's Spicoli from Fast Times, with the dumb surfer attitude), but I think people are beginning to realize that not all potheads act like a spaced out idiot all the time and can be functional. There are functioning alcoholics, and there are also functioning potheads.

I just watched a movie called The Stoned Age (1994). A half ass, low-budget Dazed And Confused-inspired stoner flick. They did a very poor job of making it seem like the 70's. I do believe you can actually see shots a modern cars at one point. I liked it, though. and would recommend to watch whilst high.

I remember that movie. It's about two idiots who want to see Blue Oyster Cult. That's one of my favorite bands. I've seen them live 3 times. I agree that the movie is pretty lame though. Not bad, but not as funny or charming as it ought to be.

Yeah. It probably didn't win any awards. But compared to Halk Baked, something like this is somewhat refreshing. This movie knows it's nothing special and doesn't try to be. Half Baked, on the other hand, is convinced it's the coolest kid in school. It's like "Hey! Look at me! Lookt at me! I'm such a cool, self-aware weed movie! Pot smokers are retards who don't get no pussy! And black people are cool! Aren't I funny!!?"
