As far as I know, he's one of the few examples of one being possessed by a deadite and then later being able to rid himself of the demon.

Is there any reason he can do this?

I always wondered that. Was it just him, or could anybody come back? And if anybody could, maybe he shouldn't have been killing the possessed so willy nilly. Maybe he's just so groovy that the demons don't stand a chance in his body.

It might be because he's got less brain activity going on than other folk. In the show, one of his mottos is "Shoot first, think never", because like Fry in Futurama, he's so stupid, he's the ultimate weapon.

Also in the show, Kelly is possessed by some demon or another, and she comes back.

After seeing what it was capable of doing, i wonder if the book intentionally altered several pages to fool them into thinking they would be raising a weaker demon. It would kinda explain why the demon looked totally different than it did in the the book. (Unless there had been some serious evolution since then! Lol) I can't remember if they ever touched upon that idea or not.

Never figured this out either... I was hoping the show might explain, but I'm not counting on it at this point. I guess it's just going to be one of those great mysteries we never solve or the writers completely said fuck it to continuity.
