IT was pretty solid. It definitely has a Stranger Things vibe, as well as one of its main cast members. Honestly though, I'm not sure if I like this or the original more. The original has nostalgia going for it, but this one is simply more contemporary in the style/look department, albeit very 80s. The main action happens in Summer of 1989, which is almost around the time when the adult-half of the original is set, which is kind of unique. For anyone who's read the book, is the time time period explicitly listed, or is not important?
Skarsgaard (sp?) as Pennywise was pretty solid. There were definitely some chilling scenes in there, mostly involving those ugly and/or rotting characters pursuing our protagonists. The kid actors all did well, and it kinda sucks that we wont get to see more of them, as the next chapter will be all adult versions. Oh well.
