I just found it on IMDb, but never heard of it. Looks really interesting and fun! It has only 300 votes with 4.1/10 rating, but the movie poster looks cool though.

I'm already more interested in it than the new one. It's on YouTube, might be what I watch tonight. Probably nothing special, but Michael Moriarty's presence is a huge plus.

If this is the one I'm thinking of I saw it as a kid. I remember it creeping me out. I had forgotten all about this movie! Thanks for posting! As for the new Dark Tower, I'm a huge fan of the book series, but not so excited for the movie. I was until I found out they cast a black guy as the Gunslinger. Not trying to be racist, but he didn't come across to me as black in any of the novels.

I'm a huge Mattew McConaughey fan, but when I heard it got lots of negative reviews, I'm still not sure if I should to see it. I haven't read the books though.

The books are really good. Definitely worth a read.

I never read the books, but I casually enjoyed the movie. McConaughey isn't a very developed character, but he's kinda cool, as a sorceror who commands people to do twisted stuff, and he blocks bullets and stuff. I snagged the movie poster with his character from work today.

That's because he's not black, when Roland first enters the mind of Odetta/Detta her first thought was that a white man had entered her mind.

Funny thing is though Idris as Roland is the best part of the movie, they tooks bits from various books in the series and crammed it all into 90-some minutes, this wasn't made by fans of the book. Frank Darabont should have made it, but King being a moron turned down selling the rights to him. So we're stuck with this.

If you've never read the books, I guess the movie is a okay, but I've read them, and saw the film and it's awful. I saw Matthew McConaughey in an interview, you could tell he didn't give a shit about the movie, he spent about 1 min talking about it, and it was obvious he had no clue who the character he was playing, he was probably told to just play a bad guy and didn't read the books.

but the movie poster looks cool though.

emoticon I bet it was influenced by the posters of Visiting Hours and Poltergeist III.
