The Neighbour - passable thriller
The Eyes of My Mother - agree, it's fantastic
The Greasy Strangler - funny & bizzare, but tries too hard to be a cult midnight movie
They're Watching - enjoyable found footage, few laughs too
Fear Inc - predictable meta horror comedy, not without merits

Satanic - generic teen voodoo hoodoo tosh
Patient Seven - like most anthologies hit n miss. Ironside always a plus
Scare Campaign - more found footage, the old paranormal investigation show trope. s'alright.
Horror Hotel the Movie - another anthology, poor from memory
The Evil in Us - forgettable infection flick

Restoration - dire. which is a shame coz i like Zach Ward
The Possession Experiment - FF exorcism nonsense
Knucklebones - formulaic teen slasher occulty dice game demon stuff
Girl In Woods - accurate title, interesting if unoriginal idea badly executed
House of Purgatory - shitty Scarehouse garbage

that's all i've seen of the first 150, tho quite a few are on the radar/harddrive. might look through the rest of the list later

The Neighbour and They're Watching looks interesting, I might to see both movies someday!

I wanted to watch Fear Inc. because of Abigail Breslin, but I heard she played only 5 minutes in it, so it looks meh to me.

The poster of Scare Campaign makes me want to watch, it looks cool! It's too bad that most bad lesser-known horror movies has cool posters, but I hope this one's good.

You're welcome. Quite an extensive list to get through, constantly amazed by the sheer output of horror movies these days. I mean 672 last year & that's just the less popular ones. S'all about the quality, my guess is 90% of them are trash, n not the good kind.

Don't recall Abi in Fear Inc, but if it was only a breif cameo n i was probably stoned... it is meh, in that all the 'twists' are balatantly obvious, like bad version of The Game trying too hard to fit in clever horror refs for fanboys

that last bit is a mild spoiler, in case people want to watch this movie - not that i'm recommending, thought it was average at best

Not endorsing all of em, House of Purgatory is particularily shite please don't watch it then blame me! Eyes of My Mother on the other hand, i highly recommend.

Makes you realise how difficult it is to keep up with all these releases, so far only seen 10% of the first 3 pages of prolelol's list. Prevenge & Belko Experiment look good.

I've been wondering whether to watch Eyes of My Mother or not.

It's a little bit arthouse-ish, but in a good way. Sparse but effective use of sound, some great cinematography & subverts the Ed Gein story ala TCM or Psycho. Sort of.

Of that list, I've seen:

Cabin Fever - Man, was this remake pointless. The "twist" on the ending was extremely stupid too. Fuck this movie. The original was actually fun.

Phantasm: Ravager - Decent conclusion to the mind-boggling non-story of the Phantasm series. Phans should enjoy it for what it is.

Antibirth - Great cast, realistic characters, and a bizarro ending.

That's the extent of my knowledge.

Antibirth was great! Surprised me by how much I enjoyed it.

Actually haven't seen any of Cabin Fever and Phantasm films because I'm a bit tired of sequels, but of course, I will someday.

Cabin Fever is cool and all, but you never saw Phantasm? That's one of the most atmospheric horror films ever. Ignore the sequels if you want, but damnit... get it watched!

Shame on me! I do want to see all sequels except the last, but will soon. I heard a lot of good things about Phantasm movies.

Most of the more well-known stuff I've seen from last year I thought sucked (Neon Demon, The Shallows, etc)

Friends keep telling me to catch The Autopsy of Jane Doe...wouldn't have happened to see that Peeps? I liked Anti- birth but hated The Shallows too. Neon Demon felt too pretentious but something tells me it was supposed to be.

I have not seen Jane Doe yet, but it's on my list. I have heard good things about that one.

I'm not a fan of Refn at all. I dislike his style and I am normally one for aesthetics in film, but he just consistently rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's pretense, maybe something else.... ? Valhalla Rising is the only film of his I've liked and I've seen Drive, the first Pusher film, Only God Forgives and now Neon Demon. Didn't like any of em.

sorry to gatecrash, but i have seen Jane Doe & it's worth a look. Cox & Hirsch have chemistry n both are great, it's almost like a play for the first two thirds, then goes a bit mad but in a good way. well, maybe...

So I hear...feel free to gatecrash anytime Foz.

I loved The Neon Demon and The Shallows but I thought The Wailing was okay. I much prefer Train to Busan!

I watched Under the Shadow yesterday, it's fantastic! Have you seen it?
