It's almost time for challenge season! October is getting nearer and nearer. We're gonna have Horror running outta our asses, soon. That's why September is our month to not only take a little break from our favorite genre before we delve in full-blast, but to also have a bit of a warm up challenge, if you will.

So, for the month of September, we're gonna geek out on any movie or tv show we want that offers even a little Sci-fi or Fantasy. That means plenty of Horror is still fair game. And like last year, we're doing a point a minute. I'll have the Progress thread up by this weekend.

Recs? Questions? Comments?

I'm likely going to dive into some more Twilight Zone episodes. I haven't finished that show yet, with about 2 seasons to go. Anthology tv shows are a good place to look, if you don't have any other titles in mind. I don't. emoticon

You seen The Mysterious Cities of Gold cartoon they used to play on Nickelodeon about 30 years ago? Probably a little before your time. I'm always looking out for a release of that on (region 1) dvd and blu-ray. Maybe that's available online somewhere. It's pretty great from what I remember and needs to be brought to more people's attention.

And there's always Game Of Thrones. You owe it to yourself to at least look into that one. And you certainly don't want to be the only person on the planet not watching the final season next year.

Gives me a chance to revisit a lot of my favorites. I especially love Event Horizon. Great atmosphere!

Just watched Phobe: The Xenophobic Experiments . Pretty hilarious. Like a combo of Things and Predator. Must be close to the record of most mullets in a movie to.

For anyone interested who has Amazon Prime, I discovered some interesting movies on there last week from director, Donald W. Thompson. A Post-Rapture Quadrilogy from the 70's and 80's. All labeled either Fantasy or Sci-fi. Pretty good, if not terrifying and powerful PG movies about the struggles of persecuted Christians in the last years of the world's existence, and the never ending pressure to accept the mark of the beast.

A Thief In The Night (1972)
A Distant Thunder (1978)
Image Of The Beast (1980)
The Prodigal Planet (1983)
