It's the truth. I've been into Terminator since I could walk, and the first two movies set the bar so high, I can't understand why no one else has been able to do anything great with the series. The TV show came close, as the writer had some great ideas to explore, but filler episodes killed that show.

The whole terminator universe gives you a lot to think about, but the writers keep retreading the same old plot. I guess I'm probaby a little picky about this. During production, T4 had some cool ideas too. T5 had some cool ideas. Maybe the execution of them just wasn't on par either. T5 acted like it was re-inventing the franchise, but it fizzled out. I hope this new one will make people respect the robots again.

Yeah I have often said I dislike it a lot but again The Uh Oh Show. It's from my favorite director so that wasn't the problem and I liked the idea but I guess I was expecting something like The Wizard of Gore or Blood Feast 2. Now I got a typical HG Lewis crazy concept but somehow the approach was too serious (even though I think the intention was too be funny but it wasn't IMO) and too modern and the characters so forgettable and not fun.

Pretty much all the movies from director Andy Milligan. It's very low budget but the premise make it seem that you are in for some cheap graphical fun. Unfortunately he is often too busy with creating setting and costumes which must suck up the whole budget. The opening is usually pretty graphic but after that you are treated to a snoozefest story with horrible acting that looks more like a play than a movie.

Joel D. Wynkoop was really the only thing that made Uh-Oh Show watchable for me.Not Lewis' worst but one would expect more after Blood Feast 2. Funny, I always heard it was gonna be more like his older movies, as if BF2 wasn't. Not quite the case. I don't have high hopes for this new one since there was a co-director.

I loved The Rats Are Coming! The Werewolves Are Here!, but all the other iMilligans I've seen weren't exactly unwatchable, but not as interesting as they first seemed.

Pretty much every movie directed by Larry Cohen has a great premise, but they're all kind of mediocre.

God Told Me To comes to mind. Seemed like it was going to be better than it ended up being. Not bad, though.

Diary of the Dead and Survival of the Dead. Both feel like movies made by fans of George Romero rather than the man himself. Pretty sure Romero was just out of good ideas at that point, having poured what he had left into Land of the Dead.

I revisit them once every few years because I want to like them more. Thought his Dead franchise was great until Diary. Maybe someday I'll finally understand why he named Survival his second favorite.

I'm quite a fan of his original Dead trilogy so I never actually tried the movies that came after. But maybe I should give at least Diary of the Dead a try for a challenge I'm going to do.
edit: I mean Land of the Dead that is the fourth movie in the franchise right? Guess I need to do some proper research.

Yeah, Land of the Dead's the fourth movie. Since you enjoy the original trilogy, you'll probably enjoy Land too. It's not quite as good, but it feels like the next logical step following Day of the Dead. Plus it has Romero's typical wide variety of characters and social commentary.

Yeah. I don't buy that shit about Survival being his second favorite. Directors/actors/bands are known for making it sound like their newest release is the best. It's just goood business. He was probably told to say it was his favorite but talked them down a notch cuz saying that would have been pretty insulting.

Maybe so. They certainly couldn't rely on "the sequel to Diary of the Dead" as a selling-point.

Jeepers Creepers in a heartbeat! I still moderately enjoy the first one but it suffers from showing too much and it doesn't feel it's as dark as it could be. A real old school dark, brooding take on the creeper & film under a different director could be just what it needs to revitalise itself.
