This thread is dedicated to my delusional, far left Facebook friend, Kevin Vanhentenryck, and his intense hatred towards our President, as well as his constant hypocrisy and spreading of obvious lies in an attempt to convince anyone who will listen that right ALWAYS = wrong. The amount of memes this guy posts, and his apparent quest to change the world through Facebook, makes me laugh. So, I'm going to share just a small fraction of it on this thread. If you don't find it funny, and if you even agree with this fuckhead, you are still 100% welcomed on Trash Epics. If this thread is what's stopping you from posting here, you should consider growing the fuck up. It's not a big deal.

Trump is fucking awesome!

I don't really wanna start a debate/argument here and I am certainly not defending the original subject of this post, but I have to say that anyone who refers to certain other countries as "shitholes" is far from being awesome. He is of course entitled to his opinion, and some of you guys might admire his balls in saying what he thinks, but he is still the President of the US and the Leader of the Free World for gawd's sake. Sorry but it is totally unacceptable and pretty far from awesomeness.. Just had to say it when I saw your remark sorry emoticon.

Well it appears he is denying the language used in those comments now.. If he said them, he said them. If he really believed in those views, he would not be trying to retract what he said. He does tend to have this habit..

Which is what Trump is referring to.

Except Trump is basically saying (allegedly now) he does not want people from these "shitholes" (including parts of Africa) coming to the US (to get out of their "shithole" countries). But that he would rather they came from somewhere nice like Norway. I can understand why other bodies are interpreting this as on the side of being racist, including the UN human rights. Having said that, I do understand the issue of immigration.. it is the same over here in the UK. You simply cannot let everyone and anybody in. But you also can't dismiss an entire population of any given country as being not worthy of living somewhere else, just because they come from a shithole. I agree with him on a points system. But still.. I suspect you and I will have to agree to disagree on these issues which is fair enough emoticon.

So whether they are from Norway or Africa or here in the UK, no immigrants what-so-ever? Serious question, which applies to my country too and what I would ask those who voted for Brexit.. Who is going to clean the toilets in various establishments, pick your fruit and vegetables from fields, serve you your Chinese or Indian or even KFC takeaways, sweep your roads, nurse your relatives in their old age, and build your infrastructure? All Americans? These are the kind of jobs which British people do not want to do but at the same time complain foreigners are taking their jobs..

Or perhaps you simply don't have an answer to that but probably wish you did.. Or you just can't be bothered to get further into this debate emoticon. Fair enough though..

No I am not upset, I am merely curious to find out what possible solution you, or others would have to such issues. You see, it is different here in the UK then because the majority of, let's say for example nurses, are immigrants from Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa.. etc. If we didn't have them, there would simply be no health care for people. And most of the opticians at my local eye clinic appear to be from Muslim countries.. And yet when Brexiters here claim we have too many immigrants, then who is going to do those jobs.. I understand it is different in your part of the world though. And of course not all of the States is going to have the same demographic.

I agree with you 100% on your last paragraph but you didn't say that before, you said you didn't want anyone emoticon.

I know.. people are quick to judge and call people "racist" just for not wanting immigrants, but they seem to forget immigrants can be white too. And it's not racist to single out a religion either.. If people don't like Muslims for a reason that doesn't make them racist because they might tolerate Sikhs or Buddhists.. same colour skin!

Yes I believe you said you are originally from Romania right? I know of people who hate Romanians here and want them all kicked out because apparently all Romanians are gypsies and criminals.. And I have Romanian friends who really contribute to society and I would rather them here than some of the more "extreme" viewed British we have.

Yes, I think that's my conversation/debate done for the day, possibly the week emoticon.

emoticon for it though.

It is not really addressed to "all Trump haters" because although his rant addresses them as "you", it doesn't take into account the Trump-haters around the rest of the world.. of which there are many and who dislike Trump for many different reasons that outlined here. The problem with many American Trump supporters is they don't see, or care, how the rest of the world views him, from an outside perspective. Yes of course we have Trump supporters here in the UK (Brexiteers mostly) and in other countries, but you can probably tell from the protests in London and Scotland that the majority of Brits don't think very highly of him.. is that your average American Trump supporter's problem? No, but many of them probably don't think or care about how Trump's divisive policities and views are affecting or impacting around the rest of the world. But if it's good for many Americans, if you are doing better in your lives as a result of his presidential tenure thus far, then who gives a fuck about some Paris Climate agreement or Iranian nuclear deal, the stability of the EU or insulting some Mayor of London, right..

On a personal note, despite the fact I am certainly no fan, I actually somewhat admire Trump's tenacity and balls.. especially when it came to trade with China (although that could be potentially disastrous for the world in the long term), getting a deal with North Korea (although it's still unclear exactly what the terms are) and on addressing NATO countries and their financial contributions to the U.S. However, I lost pretty much any smidgen of respect after the recent embarassing meeting with Putin and it's fallout.. the whole "wouldn't" rather than "would" fiasco is probably one of the most cringe-worthy moments in the history of politics.

And many of us "outsiders" don't for a minute believe much of the alleged "fake news" is all that fake: The BBC is generally very impartial/neutral in it's reporting, at least on foreign matters.

Oh and also, I'm not going to delete you from FB emoticon. Metal and movies > Political views.

I can certainly see and have no doubt people like Kevin are exacerbating the divide by posting some of this stuff. Although to me, as an outsider, quite a bit of it might well be just fact dressed up as a meme but it is the way it is being put across that causes the issues here.. i.e. it's basically trolling. And trolling in this manner never got anyone anywhere. It just pisses people off and causes conflict instead of any rational debate.

You make some valid and interesting points. I can imagine how media can be so bias over there. It happens with our newspapers for sure but seldom on the national news channels like the BBC which is probably still the most impartial and most respected news channel in the world. And there are definitely similarities with what is happening in the UK and USA. Brexiteers here are labelled in the same way as Trump supporters over there.. just a bunch of racists and bigots. And yeah, much of the media doesn't help.. just adds fuel to the fire. I don't know where we are all headed. You're right though, we should be putting ourselves first and certainly in my case the future of my kids. I don't want them growing up in a country, or indeed a world, that is being sowed by division and hatred. Who wants that.. but unfortunately it isn't going to get better and for many people who do not have such extreme views, powerful figures like Trump are not helping matters. If the most powerful person on the planet is such a love him or hate him figure as Trump clearly is, then of course extreme divisons will continue and get worse. Whatever you think of Obama, this kind of division could never have occured in such a drastic fashion but that is what Trump did.. for better or for worse (inclined to go with the latter in some cases personally), he shook it all up. And then some. And that is what many people admired about him. And we are where we are..

Somewhat still on topic.. I just bought a book called "The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam".. apparently it pissed many liberals off but it should make for some interesting and compelling reading for those of us stuck somewhere in the "middle"..
