I just watched Shocker for the first time in a long while and it is a real stinker. Not long ago I watched Deadly Friend, which, cool basketball death scene aside, is also a turd. Cursed was almost unwatchable. My Soul To Take is one of the few of his films that I haven't seen, but by all accounts it blows. What is the worst Craven film in your opinion?

My Soul to Take probably. I don't remember a single thing about it except that it fucking sucked.

I like Deadly Friend. The scene you mentioned and the ending are hilarious. I take it as a so bad it's good movie.

I thought "Chiller" was pretty lame. It's a made-for-tv movie that doesn't really build up to much. Of course, I've heard that even after A Nightmare on Elm Street, Wes was still fairly broke. That's why he had to do shit like Chiller and The Hills Have Eyes 2.

Eventually, he got back on his feet and made better movies again. Beside the films already listed, I think he's got a lot of solid films under his belt.

I like most Wes Craven movies. Even Hills Have Eyes 2 and Vampire in Brooklyn.

But Swamp Thing is just dull as all hell. The sequel blows it apart.

I'm going to take the easy way out and say Music of the Heart. I think that's the one with Meryl Streep. I like most of Wes Craven's movies, or at least the ones I have seen. If I would go strictly his horror movies then I guess Vampire in Brooklyn.

I've heard Vampire in Brooklyn, My Soul to Take and Hills Have Eyes 2 were both awful, but I haven't seen either yet.

Cursed was pretty disappointing. Of those I've seen, I'd have to go with that one. Deadly Friend isn't really that good, but it's at least somewhat entertaining and funny. Was it supposed to be a campy comedy? It's hard to believe the guy who made Nightmare on Elm Street could fail that hard if he was really trying to make a reallly scary movie.

Definitely Chiller. I see a lot of people mentioning My Soul to Take. I'm not sure whether it was intentional or not, but I thought that movie was hilarious, and love it for that. Same goes for Cursed.

Worst (in descending order with the crap on the bottom):
Cursed
Hills Have Eyes Part II
Scream 3
Scream 4
Vampire in Brooklyn

I like all the other films I've seen by him to varying degrees and that may have made these five more painful to watch than they would have been otherwise.

Although i haven't seen most of these since they first came out, I enjoyed (no particular order):
Hills Have Eyes
NOES
New Nightmare
Scream 1 & 2
Shocker
Deadly Friend
Serpent and the Rainbow (maybe his best)
Last house on the Left
Swamp Thing
People Under the stairs

Yeah, gotta go with Vampire in Brooklyn. It was a bad production and shows in its execution. It isn't unintentionally funny but tries to be and fails miserably. I remember watching it and wondering how it all went wrong. Craven + Murphy seems to = Kevin Smith + Bruce Willis.

I fucking love Deadly Friend. It is an old friend. Watched it not too long ago. I just think it's a straightfaced hybrid of mad science/teen angst/domestic abuse/killer android. Kitchen sink. Yeah, I'm kinda emoticon for those mad kitchen sink movies.

Kitchen sink movies?

Aren't those hyper realistic British dramas where the characters spend most of their time drinking tea and talking about how miserable their lives are?

My Soul to Take, it was so horrible that I actually paused it in the middle, and checked IMDb if I had misunderstood who the director were.

I remember really not liking The Hills Have Eyes Part II, but I haven't seen it in forever, and I doubt I will hate it more than My Soul to Take, when I rewatch it some day.

Hills Have Eyes II (1984) He even said he only did it for the money.

I thought The People Under the Stairs and Nightmare on Elm Street were terrible, but I'm probably the only person in the entire world who thinks that. I probably shouldn't even say that on this board.

People Under the Stairs is kind of a joke... albeit an amusing joke. Nightmare is damn legendary though! Everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

Both are pretty highly thought of. For some reason they both just didn't work for me.

I think that ANOES is a touch over-rated (7/10) but love The People Under The Stairs which is wonderfully demented.
