So here is the topic where all those who are interested for these type of movies can sign up. Since December is a busy month for some I got the permission to let this challenge last for 2 months starting December 1st until 31st January 2022.

What kind of movies are allowed:

* Found footage: people went missing or dead and there is footage found that shows what happened before their fate was sealed (Blair Witch Project, Cannibal Holocaust, The McPherson Tape)
* Documentary/Mockumentary style: this also includes the faux and pseudo documentaries where people are fooled in believing what is presented is real, also includes fake news (Mondo Cane, Faces of Death, Without Warning)
* POV filmed: well self-explanatory I guess where the dude or gal filming everything that happens is also a character in the movie (84 Charlie MoPic, REC, Trolljegeren)
* Home Video style: All kind of flicks where the viewer gets an insight into the life of a person or family who consider themselves interesting enough to be filmed, real or set up and done by amateurs (Man Bites Dog, David Holzman's Diary, Paul Calf's Video Diary)
* Filmed with handcam, mobile devices like tablet or moblie phone, webcam and any other device that are not meant for professional filmmaking (Unfriended, Host)
* The flicks in this database: https://foundfootagecritic.com/hubs/hub-films/

You get 1 point per watched minute. This means shorts and episodes of TV shows are also allowed as long as they apply to the above rules.
A FTV gives a bonus of 50%. For example movie that lasts 90 minutes = 90 + 45 points. When the duration is uneven take 50% + 0,5. 91 minutes = 91 + 46 points.

I hope this will be a fun experience.

Day 12-4:

Day 12-5:
The Houses October Built (2014) 91 min + FTV = 136.5

Took a break to do the Christmas challenge, but I definitely feel like there are more FF movies to discover here. Maybe 2 months was the right idea.

Day 1-14:
Dirty Cop No Donut (1999) 80 min

Since there was never any conclusion post to this, I'll give it a go.

emoticon Congrats to @Deferenz for his astounding win. He pummeled us all into the ground with his score. He must have taken this thing seriously!

I didn't hate this challenge like I thought I might. However, I don't know if this is due to a reprise because I think I went through all the good ones in this single effort. Some of them were surprising, but most of them are typical and reinforce the stereotype that Found Footage movies typically aren't great. There was a time when this subgenre was all the rage, but I'm glad it's not saturating the market anymore. Best FTVs were easily the "Hell House" trilogy. Had a lot of fun with those ones. I also enjoyed the revisits of the V/H/S franchise with an FTV for part 4.

As usual with these challenges, I've given all participants an amount of Trash Moneyz equal to their points. Some year, that money will have value on here. Some decade...

Never heard of Lost Vlog, but noted. I think the two month span definitely burned me out a bit. I think a month ought to do it, but I'm sure we'll make exceptions if we've got nothing else lined up and we're really bored.

I definitely wouldn't say I'm a fan of the subgenre, but I found enough gems not to dismiss it as a whole. Once you get over the handheld amateur nature of them, they're not that bad. I've added those 4 flicks you mentioned to the database. Maybe I can find them in time for another applicable challenge. Perhaps even the current challenge...

I'll agree on Blair Witch. It was definitely a game-changer when it came out, and I can still remember the buzz with the ads on tv. It was pretty good for its time and the ending was definitely creepy, but as you said, every found footage movie since seems to be a copycat, heavily influenced by the tropes.
