Der lost a few choices one of them being Psycho. Being spelled as Psyco he might have meant an obscure movie I never heard about. Given how much he loved HG Lewis going mainstream (yuck) I added A Taste of Blood. I had been listening to the audio commentary, well didn't finish it even that couldn't save it from a turkey status. Hersch seemed rather proud of it and said it did fairly well. Was he unaware that it was the least popular among his fans? Halfway Friedman barged in he never saw or heard about the movie. He was positive. Seems that if given the opportunity and budget Hersch might have made more of these flicks. Thank God he went the cheap way most of time!
Haven't seen Pet Sematary 2. The other choices are not my cup of tea.

From Box list I haven't seen the sequels. I might have seen the Scarecrow movie don't remember. The Devils Rain is on my watchlist. Not sure why he likes the first Ilsa movie that much as I think the sequels are much better. Bloodsucking Freaks and Gutterballs are the standouts for me.

So Box it is.

Well it's shocking that without A Taste of Blood you might have voted for Der. emoticon

4/10 for High Tension, I guess you didn't like the twist?

High tension was pretty average, but then it had the most retarded fucking twist I've ever seen in my life. I was tempted to give it a lower score.

Well I liked it until she started chasing the killer with a car things were getting pretty clichรฉ and unbelievable. Given the twist in the end nothing that happened before would have even been possible as that meant she would have been chasing and fighting herself. Of course it was all in the head or a dream you can explain everything that way, that is just too easy, cheap and lazy and in this case as you already mentioned completely retarded. I guess the director wanted to be clever or cool but that causes the opposite effect with some viewers.

The split personality twist can work if done properly, although I think it's kind of cliche at this point. But in this movie, all logic is completely thrown out the window. It's like they didn't even try to make it make sense.

Yeah there is no way the split personality could work here unless all logic is thrown out. I don't mind that a movie sometimes bends logic but I do think that even horror/fantasy etc should have rules and logic. This just felt too random. If anything would be possible it's too easy. And yes I agree the movie was in that year not refreshing any more. But French extreme horror was pretty cool those days (despite looking a lot like American movies with a few tweaks and twists). Martyrs was rather original but I think the most entertaining ones were Inside (despite that logic wasn't too great there either still fun for passing time) and Livid. Frontiers was pretty blatant copying from movies like Texas Chainsaw, Hills have Eyes etc.
