Just finished watching Get Out (2017). I did not like this movie at all. I felt it spent the entire runtime making the statement that all white people are racist. Wasnโt even subtle about it.
The whole movie came across to me as very anti caucasian. Even without that, it's WAY overrated. What if it was reversed? Do you think people would have a problem with it? I'm not offended by the movie, it just felt to me to be pushing an agenda. I thought it was a bit boring as well.
Itโs interesting to know how liberals may feel about it, Iโm more of a Conservative. Iโm not really trying to view it in a political way, but perhaps thatโs impossible to do so. It felt very anti white to me. If the director feels that way thatโs cool. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions. One review I read called it โthe return of the get whitey movieโ.
I enjoy discussing things like this, and reading everyoneโs opinion. Just want to make it clear that Iโm not trying to offend anyone.
Chris and his girlfriend Rose go upstate to visit her parents for the weekend. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he never could have imagined.
