I don't have much to say about this challenge. I never got in the mood to watch much black & white stuff last month and it seems like most of the rest of you didn't either.

I'll be making a post this weekend to start keeping track of Trash Cup points before I get too far behind on those.

I'm not sure where my head is lately. I put in an okay effort this time around, but I wish more people would have participated. It helps egg people on, whilst giving them recommendations for what to watch, and there wasn't a lot of that going on this time. There were a lot of overlapping viewings between a few of us, and not much more beyond that.

I still enjoyed it though. My head's been too far up my ass to get much watched in terms of TE discussions, but I'm hoping to ramble on a few titles for this new month's challenge.

I basically watched a few classic Twilight Zone's and a few silent shorts, like I did some other year.

Ya, I think we need to focus on finding out what kind of challenges people want. This site isn't about black and white's and books, not that I don't enjoy both of those things; this site is about Cannibal Movies and Monster Flicks and Cronenberg’s and Troma Movies and Sadism and Masochism, and we need to get back to that.

@Box_a_Hair - I miss the days that we would watch Troma movies and Absolute filth. It seems most of what we watch these days is mainstream, with a few exceptions, but for God's sake brother you sat 3 feet from a TV that had Sister Hood of the Travelling Pants on it and tonight you are watching Harry Potter. You didn't even watch Spring Breakers on spring break this year! The last movie you ranted on was the Avengers, which is a fine movie I'm sure, but everyone is ranting on Avenger's right now, that's not what TE is about. We are the escape from the mainstream, but lately it has consumed us.

Yeah yeah yeah, I know... it's been tough, but I got a few regular garbage movies to rant on soon. It's been slow, but I did watch Spring Breakers a few weeks before that challenge, and I did watch Beach Bum on that challenge, unlike you, so go fuck yourself.

A return to form is definitely required for TE before we attempt to move forward on social media and expansion. I'm working on a bunch of things at the moment, trying to optimize and reconfigure a few features that need to be bettered. We'll get there, and I might make a thread on that soon.

It might not be what this site's supposed to be about, but I'd miss some of the more normal challenges if we dropped them. We should plan for a challenge more along the lines of what you're talking about for June though. The Documentary Challenge was last June. Fun, but hardly trashy.

Don't get me wrong I like very boring movies and a lot of indie and artsy stuff, documentaries, etc... I'm not saying we ditch the more normal challenges, we just need to make sure we have trash interspersed. Maybe we use the mini challenges for more of the bizar things, idk. I do know that interest was up when we focused more on horror and trash.

I believe there's still at least a monthly challenge or two that could be squeezed out of horror and trash, especially if sub-genres are combined. The Nature Challenge: watch animal horror, plant horror, eco horror, and disaster movies. Something like that. Sub-genres that might not be interesting or popular enough for a monthly challenge on their own, but when combined with other sub-genres, there's a wider range of films to choose from.

I do know that interest was up when we focused more on horror and trash.

Part of that interest came from people who probably aren't coming back though. Then you have others on here who've never done a challenge and I doubt anything will entice them at this point.
