I'm super excited for this. I've been saving the end of the new season of Punisher for this.

I still need to try that show. Not a big fan of most Marvel stuff, but I've always liked the Punisher movies.

Dude, I had doubts about Bernthal in the initial casting, but the dude is perfect as Frank Castle. He's intense. A brutal killing machine that makes every Marvel character look like a pansy. I'd love to see what you think of the show.

Do videos about crimes made by YouTubers count?

Since the points are based on minutes and those videos often are basically crime documentaries, I'll allow them.

If it involves crime somehow, sure.

Personally I think straight-up Slasher movies should be excluded from this challenge, unless there is some focus on the police investigation, or it is explored in some detail why the killer is commiting these crimes and their motivations.. otherwise where do you draw the line between something like Friday the 13th and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.

I'm not against that notion. If this challenge were run the way I originally envisioned it, there'd be a heavy focus on (to quote the opening of last year's progress thread) "cops, private detectives, or vigilantes and the criminals they chase". I didn't have most slashers on the mind, or superheroes for that matter. People brought them up in the discussion thread though and it just went from there.

When it comes to Friday the 13th, going by the current rules, I think the first five could be argued as crime movies, but not the zombie Jason movies. I'm guessing you don't believe any of the Friday the 13th movies should count.

Fair enough! Personally, no I don't think the Friday the 13th movies should count because if you consider at least the first movie, the motivation of the "killer" is vague and not revealed until the "twist" ending. It's a straight up slasher. However, I think something like Halloween could count because at least there is a police presence, a "chase" to stop the killer, and some motivation behind the killings - the background of Michael's mental state is briefly explored, which in turn justifies why he commits the crimes. You don't get any of that with Friday the 13th really.

I decided to take off Killer Piรฑata. The murder are done by an object, killer piรฑata, and not a human. I don't think you could charge an object for a crime.

I am on the fence on Anna and the Apocalypse. The zombie killings shouldn't count as a crime, but there is a psycho guy who unleashes a zombie hoard on the normal people. He is indirectly murdering them. There is also some looting.

If you want to count it, go ahead. Sounds like murder to me. Unusual murder, but still murder.
