He's one of my top ten favorite contemporary directors in any genre. I agree that Shivers is long overdue a good DVD/BLU release.

Love Ms. 45! It's probably my second favorite rape and revenge film just behind Night Train Murders.

Cool thread. I'll use it as a reference for names to keep an eye out for.

Moderators, feel free to add people to this list too:

PEOPLE, tagged as "director":
https://trashepics.com/people/?limit=100&tags=director&sort=value

My list:

Harmony Korine
John Waters
Frank Henenlotter
Russ Meyer
Jim Van Bebber
Herschell Gordon Lewis
Lloyd Kaufman
Bill Hinzman
Andy Sidaris
Chris Seaver

I think that's a solid list of trash right there.

Saw my first Van Bebber just yesterday - The Manson Family. Really enjoyed it, very interesting style hopping from semi experimental to faux docco to teen slasher to framed narrative, with a dash of comedy n more than a splash of blood - i counted 7 billion stabs during the 95mins.

even more impressive he filmed over evenings n weekends from 1988 to around 97 when unfished version was screened at a few festivals n maybe a Pantera or SkinnyPuppy gig, then finished product eventually got a theatrical release in 2004

He doesn't seem to have done too much since then, but I want to check out My Sweet Satan & David Holtzman's Diary. & that biker gang revenge one.

Technically, it was his best movie. Just not very interesting, and about 45 minutes too long.

Do you like Fernando Arrabal at all? I've only seen Viva la muerte, but I have a box of his. Maybe I asked you that before. I think you'd like 'muerte anyway since you like Jodorowsky.
