I found this article. I am aware of what a complete dirtbag Victor Salva is, and that he personally makes all of our skin crawl even more than his Creeper character. But, I enjoy the Jeepers Creepers films, and would like to see more of them. Apparently they are working on a TV show too. If there is any way to legally steal all the profits that would have gone to Victor Salva, and distribute them to his victims, I am totally on board with that. Anyway, I just wanted to share this.

Part 3 was so awful, the Creeper should be put to rest for good...

I thought the first one was quite good, in sort of a 70's-style way. The second one was... different... with the emphasis on the power of the Creeper's wings, his funky little weapons, and his Jason-like ability to come back from any injury. AND, (big and) it had Nicki Lynn Aycox in it, so that didn't suck at all.

But yeah, the third one just didn't even feel like a complete movie, they left way too many questions unanswered. Also, far too many scenes take place in broad daylight, and the whole thing about the truck having super-mega-supernatural booby traps didn't really work for me.

I liked the first two enough that I would like to see more done with the Creeper, I guess. If they can get Ray Wise back, that's would be a plus.

I didn't mind the third one so much. I was intrigued by that severed hand bit, the booby-trap truck kept having me wondering on the mechanics (like where exactly in that confined space were those long metal bars being stored?), and I didn't mind the daylight. I thought that was alright. But I still wasn't thrilled. I think the Creeper is kind of a cheap villain. You can't really kill him, and he kinda cheats physics. However, I'd probably watch more.

I think Super 8 might have been partly inspired by Jeepers Creepers. It was mostly inspired by The Goonies, E.T., Close Encounters, etc, of course, but I think there might have been a little Jeepers Creepers in there too. The part where they are on the bus that gets attacked was basically the whole movie Jeepers Creepers 2. There was something else too, that is slipping my mind right now.. I will come back here and add it when I remember.

It is also possible the Jeepers Creepers 3 was slightly influenced by Super 8. Just in the sense that there was a two way psychic connection between the monster and some of its victimes. I guess they both could have borrowed that from John Carpenter's Vampires.

I agree that it would have been creepier if he was some nutjob instead of an unkillable demon. I'm not crazy about invincible characters.

A while back there was some nutcase on FB that I had on my friend list. She made a long rant about how if anyone on her friend list liked those movies to unfriend her. I like those movies, so I did as she said and unfriended her. She then proceeded to send PMs complaining that I unfriended her. Damn nut... emoticon

You know, in an alternate universe Jeepers Creepers had the potential to go on to being a great horror franchise of the 2000's, the equivalent to the Jasons and Freddys of the 80s. Six, seven, even eight movies whose sole purpose is to have fun with the Creeper character, extend the mythology, confuse the fuck outta fans with continuity issues, and showcase a buttload of cool death scenes. Instead things floundered and we got two piss poor sequels. Oh well.
