A question...

Mar 2017
Is there a feminine equivalent to the "macho hell" subgenre of cinema? That is, films like Deliverance, Joe (!970), Southern Comfort, Wolf Lake, Shoot! or La Traque, where "tough" guys get in bad situations and turn them progressively, violently worse through constitutional inability to just back down or be reasonable.

I need to watch more women in prison films, You may well be right, but I can only remember seeing maybe one myself that I was into for more than just the sleaze.

Reform School Girls is one of the greatest movies of all time. I saw it on USA Up All night years ago and watch it on DVD regularly. Great Dialog.

Good point. I've not seen The Descent for ages, but I do recall the menace from the monsters and environment being massively exacerbated by the behavious of the characters.
